Welcome to the Raleigh Money Expo™!

Thank you for coming out for the 44th edition of the Raleigh Money Expo™, presented by the Raleigh Coin Club.

We’ve filled the bourse again with an outstanding group of over 100 coin, currency and stamp dealers from 16 states – there are over 170 tables’ worth of material to explore!. We also have a robust offering of educational opportunities via our seminars, exhibits and special attractions.

If you’re reading this on Friday or Saturday morning, and you’ve been looking to improve your grading skills, check to see if there are any openings in our Saturday afternoon grading seminar. The course runs from 1:00pm to 4:00pm in Seminar Room A. The cost of the seminar is $60.00. Each registered student receives Coin World’s Making the Grade: Comprehensive Grading Guide for US Coins, a $40 retail value. Details are available at the RCC “Club Table.”

Our full educational program schedule can be found on page 15. Our theme on Friday is “American Copper” with three talks on ways to collect US copper coinage; the Saturday theme is “The US Coin Market” highlighted by a presentation by Patrick Perez, editor of the Coin Dealer Newsletter (the “Greysheet”).

Our “Kid’s Zone” for young collectors can be found in the rear section of Aisle 100. We’ve added several new activities this year and have loads of free coins for the kids. All activities in “the Zone” have been designed for young collectors 16 and under and are free of charge. Bring the kids by and join the fun!

Don’t miss our Educational Exhibits area located at the front of the bourse. The RCC prides itself on presenting an outstanding array of material in our exhibits each year, and 2017 is no exception! Please take some time to view the collections presented!

The Gold History Corporation joins us for the first time. The GHC team has its panning troughs set up and ready to go! They are located at the back of Aisle 500. Stop by and “strike it rich” panning for gold in dirt brought in from the same river banks that gave up the first gold discovery in the US back in 1799!

ANACS, America’s oldest coin grading service, is here at the show and accepting submissions. They’re offering special show pricing and stand ready to answer your questions about coin grading and guide you through the submission process!

If you’re more of a philatelist vs. a numismatist, you’ll want to check out Aisle 100. The dealers here at the Expo have an outstanding variety of stamps, covers and postal history items available for inspection and purchase.

As always, we thank you for coming to the Raleigh Money Expo™ and hope you have a great time! If you have any questions or comments, please stop by the Raleigh Coin Club “Club Table” just inside the main doors.

Grading US Coins Seminar Saturday 1:00pm to 4:00pm

The seminar will begin with an interactive discussion of coin grading and then transition into a hands-on session in which students will examine a selection of US coins and assign a grade to each. Mr. Roach will then review the coins one-by-one and explain why each was graded the way it was by PCGS, NGC or ANACS. Each of the coins included in the seminar – including some exciting rarities – has been

selected for its potential teaching value. The seminar will also discuss what makes a “problem” coin and the professional grading process.

Cost: Just $60.00! Register at the RCC “Club Table”

20 2017 Raleigh Money Expo™

About the Raleigh Coin Club The Raleigh Coin Club is the Triangle area’s largest and longest-

running coin club! We got our start back in 1954 and have been going strong ever since!

But we’re so much more than a group of coin collectors – our members also collect paper money, medals, tokens and numismatic books! (There may even be a few stamp collectors amongst us!) We have beginning collectors, advanced collectors and collectors at every stage in between – you’ll never be “out of place” as a member of the Raleigh Coin Club.

One of the strengths of the RCC is the diversity of its members. With so many different areas of collecting interest among its membership, you’re sure to find a kindred spirit within our friendly group.

Wouldn’t it be great to find other collectors with whom you could…

Share your enthusiasm for the hobby?

Swap stories about your latest purchases?

Learn from or help educate?

You’ll find all of that and more at the Raleigh Coin Club!

Annual dues are $7.00 for adults and just $3.00 for young collectors under 18. Family memberships are $10.00. You’re free to “try the club on for size” before joining by attending a meeting or two (or more!) and getting to know us firsthand.

The Raleigh Coin Club meets the third Tuesday of each month. Our meetings are held at the Ridge Road Baptist Church in Raleigh. The church is located at 2011 Ridge Road (just minutes off the Rt. 440 Beltline).

The meetings start at 7:30pm (at 6:30pm we have a separate meeting for young collectors – our Coin Hawks) and generally adjourn about 9:30pm. The doors to the meeting room open at 7:00pm and many members arrive early to start “talkin’ coins” before the meeting begins.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
