COMPOSOLITE® BALLISTIC PANEL SPECIFICATION
1. C ® ) P O / S B :
The Composolite® structural panels and joining components are manufactured using the pultrusion process with the base materials being glass fibres and thermose ng resins. The panels are used for walls, rooves, doors and can be load bearing without the need for addi onal frame structures. The system is par cularly suitable for extreme temperature environments with low thermal conduc vity of the panels and annulus between the outside and inside wall providing excellent comfort without the need for addi onal insula on ma‐terials. Pain ng the Composolite® panels is not required for preserva on as they will not degrade in most environments whether that be marine, desert or jungle.
) C ® :
M C :
COMPOSOLITE® is a system of five interlocking components manufac‐tured of pultruded fiberglass reinforced polymer. This construc on makes COMPOSOLITE® par cularly well suited to outdoor use and/or corrosive environments.
COMPOSOLITE® is available in either green polyester, slate grey polyester fire retardant, or beige vinyl ester resin systems. The standard fire retardant resins meet the require‐ments of Class 1 ra ng of 25 or less per ASTM E‐84 and the self‐ex nguishing requirements of ASTM D‐635. The resin is UV inhibited and the composite includes a surface of veil on all exposed surfaces for en‐hanced corrosion and UV protec on.
Other resins and colours are available upon request.
S D :
COMPOSOLITE® combines manufacturing simplicity with an almost unlimited number of configura ons.
The panels feature integrally moulded longitudinal grooves into which a con‐nector or toggle (of the same length or longer) is inserted during assembly. Three‐way and 45o connectors allow the system components to turn corners and facilitate the joining of walls or sides. Toggles lock panels and connectors to‐gether securely. For added flexibility, the system also includes a hanger and an end cap.
For permanent structures, joints between panels and connectors and bonded during assembly.

2. HS : ) P O / S B :
Strongwell’s HS fiberglass armor plates are designed for ballis cs resistance as a result of joint effort with Hardwire Composite Armor Systems. The plates are assembled using specially constructed glass reinforcements in proprietary resin matrix. The composite plate is thermoset in a controlled cycle.
When struck by a bullet or other projec le, HS Armor plates delaminate in a way that absorbs the energy and stops the projec le.
The US Armed Forces used many thousand of the cost effec ve HS Armor plates to successfully protect service personnel during their involvement in Iraq and HS Armor played an inportant roll in the reduc on of deaths and injuries caused by enemy Improvised Explo‐sive Device (I.E.D.).
) HS A P S T :
The standard size plates the HS Armor is delivered in is 1220mm wide x 2440mm long with standard thicknesses being 3.96mm, 6.35mm, 7.94mm, 10.16mm, and 12.7mm.
) T R :
The plates have been independently tested to UL 752 and NIJ (Na onal Ins tute of Jus ce) Ballis cs Specifica ons and exceed all these requirements. With the assistance of the Australian Defence Forces (ADF), Bondstrong has undertaken addi onal field tes ng of 0.5" HS Plate. This included the following:
▪ Claymore mine detona on at 5.0 metres;
▪ White Phosphorus incendiary grenade detona on with full HS plate contact for the dura on;
▪ Improvised Explosive Device (I.E.D.) denota on using C4;
▪ Various types of explosive detona ons with full HS Plate contact.
These were informal tests performed by the ADF but they were representa ve of events that the 0.5" HS Plate could be subjected to in a ba lefield situa on. The HS Armor plate absorbed heat, blast effects and projec le impingement without loss of integrity or break through and proved fit for the material's designed purpose of protec ng both personnel and property in such events.
Strongwell HS Armour plates are independently tested on a regular basis for conformance to the following requirements. The plates below were tested for UL 752 Level 3 with a .44 Magnum Pistol.

3. HS /
) P O :
Strongwell's HS fibreglass armor plates are bolted or bonded to Strongwell's Com‐posolite® panels to form a very effec ve integral ballis c building system whereby the client can cost‐effec vely choose the degree of protec on required for the intended purpose of the structure. Here are the three levels of protec on to choose from:
▪ Basic: NIJ 3a ‐ includes all short barrel ballis cs, 12 gauge shotgun with the excep on of 1OZ solid projec le, IED, grenade, ballast, and bomb shrapnel resistant
▪ Medium: NIJ 3 ‐ includes all military 7.62 (M80) and 5.56 FMJ ammuni on for long barrel weapons in addi on to Basic specifi‐
ca on.
▪ Heavy: NIJ 4 ‐ includes 30.06 Cal. (APM2) armor piercing plus Rocket Propelled Grenade in addi on to Basic and Medium
specifica ons.
The buildings and structures that incorporate Composolite® Panel as the primary construc on material are detail designed and fabri‐cated in our factory and flat packed for delivery to the client's site where it can be erected at the intended loca on or preassembled at a safe loca on and trucked in or flown in by helicopter. Composolite® structures can be assembled as permanent or temporary buildings as the removable "toggles" can be easily permanently bonded into the panel joints at loca on of building assembly for very li le extra cost.
) C ® C :
▪ Basic: The Composolite® panel will have a single 12.7mm HS plate, either bolted or permanently bonded, on the external
face of the Composolite® Panel where ballis c protec on is required. The annulus in panel components remain empty.
▪ Medium: The Composolite® panel will have dual 12.7mm HS plates, either bolted or permanently bonded, one (1) on the
external face of the Composolite® Panel and one (1) on the internal wall where ballis c protec on is required. The annulus in panel components will be filled at the site with dry sand when the structure is being assembled.
▪ Heavy: The Composolite® panel will have dual 12.7mm HS plates, either bolted or permanently bonded, one (1) on the exter‐nal face of the Composolite® Panel and one (1) on the internal wall where ballis c protec on is required. The annulus in pan‐el components will be filled during the workshop prefabrica on process with Bondstrong's proprietary compound. The filled panels will require li ing equipment to handle and assemble. The filled panels are designed for light weight buildings that can be carried to remote loca ons by helicopter.
) A ::
▪ Forward Barracks
▪ Forward Medical Buildings (the Composolite panel surfaces are ideal for a clean environment)
▪ Blast Protec on Walls
▪ Check Points
▪ Guard Sta ons
▪ Machine Gun Pillboxes
▪ Guard Towers
▪ Any temporary or permanent building or structure that requires ballis c protec on.
COMPOSOLITE® BALLISTIC PANEL PRODUCTS

) P O
The “WALL” is an in‐house engineered solu on for pro‐tec ng personnel in ac on from three fronts. The size and loca on of shoo ng win‐dows are fully customizable to client’s discre on. Op on‐al shoo ng windows can be provided at the side panels to preference.
The product is best used for situa ons where only frontal a ack is an cipated and back‐fire type weapons are used.
The overall weight varies depending on the degree of protec on provided (basic / medium / heavy).
The product illustrated below is a conceptual design and thus can be fully bespoke to meet client’s specific require‐ments.
I :
Tradi onal sand bag reinforced defensive posi ons have proven inefficiency in terms of both adequacy of protec on (i.e. purpose) and me needed for setup (minimum of two people working con nuously for two days). At high risk zones, se ng up such defense systems
would not be a safe and sound solu on. Bondstrong Research and Development department have spo ed down this market need and have developed the following concepts for two defensive structures that are rela vely light and quick to install on loca on and that suit a vast range of weaponry. Op onal tac cal equipment can be fi ed depending on client’s specific needs.
