How did we get here?

• October 2013 Ridecheck data collection• Existing Conditions Report• January Board workshop• January Stakeholder workshop• Network Design Retreat with SKT staff• Final Report

Stakeholder guidance: More ridership, less coverage

Stakeholder guidance: More ridership, less coverage

Stakeholder guidance: Saturdays

Our recommendation: evenings and Sundays too.

Recommendation: Consistent all-day frequency

Recommendation: Consistent layover time

• Reduce scheduled layover time to 15% of revenue hours

• Allow frequent services to pass through Transit Centers (instead of dwelling there for the pulse)

Recommendation: Coordinate with land use and development agencies

Constrained network recommendation

• Higher frequency on corridors• Commercial/River Road• Keizer to Lancaster Drive• Downtown to Portland Road and Chemeketa CC• Downtown to West Salem

• Frequent services don’t dwell at Transit Centers

• Other specific local changes, in all quadrants

A drop in residences near any service (mostly low-frequency)…

…but a gain in residences near frequent service, which is far more likely to be useful.

Change in residential access to transit that would occur …

A drop in jobs near any service (mostly low-frequency)…

…but a BIG gain in jobs near frequent service, which is far more likely to be useful.

Change in jobs access to transit that would occur …

Thank you!
