What is a computer virus?

A computer virus is a malicious program that spreads from computer to computer.

Virus are friendly or harmful ?

How computer viruses spread ?

Computer viruses move from computer to computer by attaching themselvesTo file or boot records of disks and diskettes.

Viruses’ main objective is to make your system unstable and cause harm to data.

Some computer viruses :-

Trojan Horse

Trojan Horse is a destructive program. It usually pretends as computer games or application software. If executed, computer system will be damaged.

Worm Virus

A worm is also a destructive program that fills a computer system with self-replicating information, clogging the system so that its operations are slowed down or stopped

How to help prevent computer viruses

• Nothing can guarantee the security of your computer 100 percent.

• You can continue to improve your computer's security and decrease the possibility of infection by using a firewall, keeping your system up-to-date, maintaining a current antivirus software.

EXAMPLES OF ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE ARE:-
