The Computing AdvantageAll computing programmes at Sunway are industry relevant and the curriculum provides students with many opportunities to be trained and hired by IT industries. Some of the opportunities include:

• Internship and Industry TrainingOur curriculum places emphasis on providing students with the best exposure and opportunity to gain relevant IT experience in the real-world through internship and industry training. The internship requires a student to work in a company for a few months to gain work experience as well as to have a feel of the working environment in the IT industry. Students are also given training sessions by IT professionals and consultants to keep up with the development of IT industries. Hence, our graduates are more prepared in translating their knowledge from the classroom to practice.

Many of our graduates had their internship and industry training at renowned companies inMalaysia which include:• SASInstituteSdnBhd,specialisesinBusinessIntelligenceandDataMining• AIMSDataCentreSdnBhd,specialisesinservicesrelatedtocolocation, network, managedand

• Networking with Industry AdvisorsIn order to keep up with the fast changing computer and information technology industries, our academicians and students regularly meet with IT professionals and consultants from many multinational companies. Some of them were appointed as our Industry Advisors and they provide inputs and feedback on our curriculum. This is to ensure that our graduates are better informed of current trends and development of computing within Malaysia and around the world.

• Employment opportunitiesThe Student Services Department at Sunway University organises several career fairs for students by inviting employers from multinational companies to interview prospective students. Many students have been offered jobs even before graduation by our industry partners.

• Industry LinksOur industry partners include Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and SAS Institute Sdn Bhd. They provide many opportunities for our students to participate in their events and also research grants for capstone projects.

I completed my BSc (Hons) Information Technology at Sunway University in 2009. My final year project focused on Human Computer Interaction (HCI). Since then, I started having an interest in the area which motivated me to further my education. I completed my MSc in Mobile Systems at Sunway University in 2012. The postgraduate programme threw more interesting challenges throughout the course. I am very honoured to be the first postgraduate graduate from the Sunway University especially in their Silver Jubilee year. There are many opportunities in Sunway University such as meeting field experts, producing research papers and journal articles, and experiencing the International Symposium and the International Technology Expo. I am glad I made the decision to continue my postgraduate programme at Sunway University as it is a great environment to do research with unlimited resources.
