Itispossibletolinkupamaximumof8unitsviaasingleProtoCessor Gatewaytoabuildingman-agementsystem.TheProtoCessorGatewayisconnectedtotheleadunit.Allotherunits(uptoamaximumof8)aredaisy-chainedviatheNetworkLinkterminals.

Sinceeachunitcanbeseparatelyaddressed,itispossibletomonitorandcontroleachunitindi-vidually.Differentnetworkconfigurationsmaybeachievedandaremostlydependantonthetypeofnetworkpresentatthesite.

2 Wiring

TheinternalwiringandtheinstallationoftheGatewayoptionintheleadingunitaswellastheinternalwiringofthesuccessiveunitsaremadeatthefactory.Onsiteonlythegatewaymustbeconnectedtothenetwork(BACnet/IPorLonWorks)andthesuccessiveunitsmustbedaisy-chainedviatheNetworkLinkterminalsusingtwo-wirecables(seecorrespondingwiringdiagrams).

3 Configuration

3.1 ConfiguringtheDefensorMk5contolunit

EachDefensorMk5unitmusthaveauniqueModbusaddress.TheModbusaddresscanbeas-signedinthesetupleveloftheMk5controlunit.

3.2 Gatewayconfiguration

Theprotocolconfigurationismadeatthefactory,priortofinaltesting.Thebaudratesaread-justedtothefollowingvalues:

Access the setup level of each control unit (see Defensor Mk5"Technical Documentation") and set the desired Modbus address.Important:makesuretheModbusaddressforeachunitisunique!

TheModbusparametersoftheDefensorMk5cannotbeadjustedandaresettothefollowingvalues:– 9600baud– 1startbit– 8databits– no parity– 1stopbit

3.2.1 SettingtheIPaddressandsubnetmask

For BACnet/IP and LonWorks application,anIPaddressandthesubnetmaskmustbeassignedtothegatewayinordertoaccessit.TheIPaddressandsubnetmaskmaybeassignedatthefactoryorcanbemodifiedatanytimeviatheintegratedFieldServerGUI(GraphicUserInterface)oftheProtoCessor.

ToconfiguretheIPaddressandthesubnetmaskviatheintegratedFieldServerGUIoftheProtoCes-sorproceedasfollows:

1. ConnecttheProtoCessorgatewaytoaPCusinganEthernetcross-overcable or directlytothenetworkusingastraightcable.

2. Thedefault IPaddressof theProtoCessorGateway isset to10.232.72.172,SubnetMask is255.255.0.0.MakesureyourPCisinthesameIPnetworkastheProtoCessorGateway;otherwiseassignastaticIPaddresstoyourPConthe10.232.72.0network.

4. Open your internet browser and enter the IP address of the gateway (by default ex factory10.232.72.172),thenconfirmtheentrywiththeEnterkey.

6. Selectthemenupoint“Setup>NetworkSettings”inthe“Navigation Tree”.Entertheappropri-ate IP-Address and subnetmask.Toactivatethenewsettings,clickfirstonthebutton<Update IPsettings>andthenonthebutton<SystemRestart>.AfterrestartthegatewayisconfiguredtothenewIPaddressandsubnetmask.

7. InordertoaccesstheProtoCessorgateway,theIPaddressofyourlaptopmustbesettothesamenetworkastheProtoCessor.

3.2.2 Modifying the BACnet Node ID

1. Enterthe(new)IPaddressofthegatewayinyourinternetbrowserandconfirmtheentrywiththeEnterkey.TheFieldServerGUIwillbestarted.

2. Selectthemenupoint“Setup>FileTransfer”inthe“Navigation Tree”.Then,clickinthe“Re-trieve”sectiononthelink“config.csv”andsavetheconfigurationfiletothedesiredloactiononyourlaptop.

3. Opentheconfigurationfile“config.csv”withatexteditor,changeinthesection“Server Side Nodes”ofthewindowtheNodeIDtotheappropriatevalueandsavetheconfigurationfile.

4. Selectthemenupoint“Setup>FileTransfer”inthe“Navigation Tree”.Clickinthe“Update” sectiononthebutton<Browse...>andselecttheconfigurationfileyouhavemodified.Then,clickonthebutton<Submit>inordertouploadconfigurationfileintotheProtoCessor.

Assoonastheuploadisfinishedacorrespondingmessageappearsintheupperpartofthewindow.Clickonthebutton<SystemRestart>torestartthesystemwiththenewsettings.AfterrestarttheNodeIDischangedtothenewvalue.
