Please: NO nuts (including nutella) SCHOOL BANKING MONDAYS. Principal’s Report Last week we celebrated Education Week with our matinee and evening performances of our Variety Concert. Our students have shown the audiences how talented they are. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our teachers and support staff for their work behind the scenes with organization, preparation of performances, props, sound and curtains. In particular, we thank Mr Rod Farrar, who has supported our school performances with his expertise in lighting each year for several decades. Encore Matinee Performance The Variety Concert was a great success, though we have a number of parents who missed out on tickets. As such, we are holding an encore matinee performance on Friday 10 th August from 12.15 – 1.30 pm. Tickets are available from the office at a cost of $5 per adult and $1 per child. Students will need to bring in their costumes for this encore performance by Thursday. Zone Athletics Congratulations to the students who participated in the Zone Athletics Carnival in Parkes last Friday. Mrs Chambers has reported that the students were excellent ambassadors for our school. Many of the students were placed in top three positions. Notes for Area Athletics will be distributed when received. Field events usually have a qualifying distance that needs to be met.This may mean that though a student placed first or second in events, they may not be selected. Olympic Gala Day The Olympic Gala Day has been postponed until 31 st August. Hearing Follow Up Staff from the Aboriginal Medical Service returned to the school yesterday to complete follow-up hearing tests. Results will be forwarded to parents within the next week. Garden Makeover Students in K6K and 1R have been busy growing an assortment of winter vegetables and herbs. 5C have recently turned their hand to planting vegies. On Thursday, students in 5C and 3/4K will be walking to the Wiradjuri Study Centre to investigate their magnificent garden with Mr Cary L’Estrange. Mr L’Estrange will then be assisting both classes to make over our front gardens, sharing his expertise in gardening. Jeans for Genes Day
Condobolin Public School held a coin
trail to raise money for Jeans for Genes
Day on Friday 3 August. Students from
kindergarten to year 6 wore their jeans
and donated coins, placing them along
the coin trail to make a pair of jeans,
raising $250.00.

Please remember there were several heats for some events and times/measurements were taken to find the eventual winner. There were only finals for 8-12 years 100 metres.
Ribbons were given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters for 5 year olds, 6 year olds, 7 year olds, Junior 8-10 year olds, 11 year olds and 12/13 year olds boys and girls events.
Only in 100 metre events are ribbons given to each particular age group. Congratualtions to all on a fantastic carnival.
