Once completed and before we deliver any Sprinter, each one is sent back to Mercedes- Benz to have the internal computer system reprogrammed. You see, Sprinters are originally built as cargo vans. They are very basic with no frills and are used primarily as work trucks. When it’s transformed into a high-end luxury Sprinter, it becomes a completely different vehicle, but the computer’s brain still thinks it is a work truck. It won’t take into consideration the extra weight that’s been added, changes to the suspension and other critical factors. This can dramatically affect its performance. If the “brain” isn’t reprogrammed, you may experience a rougher ride, poor gas mileage and a number of other performance issues.
