CONCEPT
In transport infrastructure, fi rst of all Bilfi nger PI will present the newly won US project Ohio River Crossing with a total project volume of 800 million USD. Then, Michel Rosseau of the Bayer-ische Landesbank will outline the new TGV high speed rail Nimes – Montpellier (deal of the year 2012). Mr. Witteveen, the man-aging director of BAM PPP is going to report on the motorway project N 33 in the Netherlands (deal of the year as well) which as a specialty is directly fi nanced by the two largest Dutch pen-sion funds. After the coffee break, Moritz Nelles of VINCI Concessions will explain the PFI project refurbishment and maintenance of the complete road network of the Isle of Wight in the UK with a project volume of 720 million GBP. Hans-Wilhelm Käsewi-eter of PSPC will give an overview on the current broadband activities in Europe. The morning session is going to be conclud-ed by Dr. Jan Miksch from the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development with the subject development of PPP structures and institutions in the southern part of Africa. After lunch, the conference will be split up into two Parts: Work-shop 1 on offshore wind energy and workshop 2 on the building sector. With respect to offshore wind facilities, a representative of Commerzbank is going to discuss the offshore fi nancing from the perspective of a commercial bank. Dr. Knütel of Hogan Lovells is going to report on the newly released French regulation. Follow-ing that, a survey of the European activities will be given and es-pecially the customs issue outside the 12 mile zone will be taken up by Deloitte. The workshop on the building sector will be given mostly by Government Representatives speaking on current PPP trends in USA/Canada, Eastern Europe, France and UK. In the brief fi nance part, we will have short statements with respect to the Maastricht criteria (public debts) and fi nancing without commercial banks, like for example the direct infrastruc-ture fi nancing through Pension Funds or through Debt Funds. The Symposium will be concluded by a high level panel discussion. Simultaneous translation will be provided (except for workshop 1).
