Regional Case Study: Masdar - advanced energy-efficient desalination pilot projectMasdar has a range of stepped targets through to 2036 designed to increase the amount of clean energy used in future desalination plants, spends $100m a year on research and development. It is estimated that 76 million tonnes of CO2 is emitted annually due to desalination processes.
