The art - Salford Quays Twilight, 2012“I first painted The Quays as a student in themid 1980’s when it was a derelict andabandoned dock. I rediscovered it as a subjectaround 2000 when I exhibited at The Lowry –then a brand new arts centre. Since that dateThe Quays have undergone continuous changeand development culminating in the arrival ofMediaCityUK.

I have been back to The Quays many times towitness and document this changing vista, usually painting in a panoramic format whichseems to suit the long horizons ofThe Quays.I’ve produced paintings there at all times of theday, but there’s something special abouttwilight when the sun begins to set, the skyturns a vivid blue and the lights begin totwinkle - all reflected in the water ofThe Quays.”

TESTIMONIAL

The Chartered Institute of Housing Conference & Exhibition

“I can honestly say that Manchester Centralcould not have done anything more to ensurethe success of the event at its new home. Wehave an excellent working relationship with the team, who constantly strive to achieveexcellence on our behalf.

The first year’s event was a huge success, while our second show last year improvedfurther still with increased numbers ofdelegates and 57% of the exhibition rebooked for 2014. I cannot recommend the venue and the team enough.”
