ANNUAL NURSING LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

PENNSYLVANIA ORGANIZATION OF NURSE LEADERS

Dear Colleagues,

I welcome you to the 2019 PONL Annual Nursing Leadership Conference! This year we will be meeting at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel. We hope you will make the decision to join us in Harrisburg for a conference that we are confident will be an excellent day-and-a-half of topics, networking and fellowship.

PONL’s Program & Education Committee members have been hard at work since last year's conference to identify a slate of engaging and energizing speakers who we know will attract nurse leaders in all areas and facets of their careers. Speakers will address timely topics such as caring for LGBTQ patients and their families, mandated staffing ratios, communicating with legislators, and more. You will leave with the knowledge to inspire and engage your team into 2020 and beyond.

We are also delighted to have esteemed filmmaker and nurse supporter Carolyn Jones as our opening keynote, “The American Nurse: Stories of Life-Changing Impact!” PONL won a 2018 competition hosted by Walden University for Ms. Jones to present her talk. Thank you to every PONL supporter who voted on PONL’s behalf to bestow this honor on our conference!

We will again offer multiple opportunities to bring back valuable material for nursing leaders of all levels in your institution. Experience valuable networking opportunities at our networking reception and in an exhibit hall packed with new and exciting solutions. Review our poster area and exchange dialogue with the presenters about their work. We will also continue to host our 50/50 raffle and silent auction, which offer unique ways for you to support PONL – and perhaps check some items off your holiday shopping list!

If you are not currently a PONL member, I highly encourage you to join. In addition to top-notch educational programs and networking, our legislative involvement at both the state and federal level provides the much needed “Voice of Nursing Leadership” in Pennsylvania. PONL offers a group membership discount as well as a new leader discounted to encourage as much involvement in the commonwealth as possible.

Don’t miss the exciting opportunities offered at the 2019 PONL Annual Nursing Leadership Conference. I hope to see you in Harrisburg Sept. 26-27!

Sincerely,

Elizabeth Menschner, DNP, MSN, MAS, RN, NEA-BC President | PONL
