First American Academic Research Conference on Global Business,
Economics, Finance and Social Sciences (AAR16New York Conference)
25-28 May, 2016 Wagner College, One Campus Road, Staten Island, NY 10301 USA.
The first day of the conference is on May 26, 2016, Inaugural function at 9.30 am.
Dear & Distinguished Delegates,
Welcome to New York!
It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to you to the AAR16New York Conference being jointly organized by the Global Business Research Journals (GBRJ), Wagner College and SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysore from 25-28 May 2016 in the city of New York, United States of America.
The Global Economic Challenges!
The world suffers from many economic challenges. Sovereign debt crisis & migrant crisis in Europe, oil price volatility, job losses, global poverty, income equality, global warming and depletion of natural sources are a few of the challenges worth mentioning, here. Against this backdrop, achieving global financial stability and sustained economic growth are much bigger challenges being faced by the global community. In this context, avoiding ‘systemic risks’ is yet another important task before all of us in the present volatile global economic landscape. Of course, achieving these objectives is fraught with many challenges.
Investor Confidence! An important Phenomenon!!
At this juncture, what is very relevant and important is giving topmost priority to regaining investor confidence. We need to think rationally and try to rope in investors to the markets and retain them awarding a reasonable return on their investments. Offering them a conducive business environment is absolutely necessary to ensure long-term economic growth in an economy. Once this is done, we can rest assured that we would regain the past glory and put the global economic and financial system on the growth trajectory. I do strongly feel that the global think-tank has to re-think whether the system has sufficient safeguards to protect the investors which includes Foreign Direct Investment and Foreign Institutional Investments. Against this background, the upcoming conference is being organized in the fabulous city of New York, the world’s financial capital.
Paper Presentations & Invited Lectures!
Of course, I am quite confident that this conference would provide a platform to economists, academicians, researchers and scholars from different parts of the world to network and share their insights and views on the emerging trends in social science research and other related disciplines.
Our sincere thanks to the Conference Advisory Board, Prof. N.R. Parasuraman, Professor of Finance & Director, SDM Institute of Management Development, Mysore-India, our proud academic partners, Dr. Lily D. McNair, Provost and Senior Vice-President, Academic Affairs, Wagner College & Prof. Mary Lo Re, Dean of Adult Education & Extension Programs, Wagner College for their constant support and encouragement to

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Plane: Three major airports serve New York City. Wagner College is most easily accessed from
Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, though LaGuardia and JFK Airports are within
reasonable travel distance. Car service is available between Wagner College and all three airports
for around $50 each way. For more information on local airports, see the Port Authority of PA,
NY & NJ website.
Train or Subway: Amtrak, Long Island Railroad, and New Jersey Transit trains arrive at Penn
Station in Manhattan at 34th Street and 7th Avenue. Wagner College can be reached from
Manhattan by taking the Staten Island Ferry, leaving at regular intervals throughout the day from
the ferry terminal on the southern tip of Manhattan.
From Penn Station, take either a taxicab or the New York City Subway to the South Ferry
Terminal. We recommend taking the 1 line to the South Ferry Terminal. A subway ride currently
costs $2.75, if you use MetroCard, transfers to other trains or buses are free for two hours after
the first fare is purchased. Take the Staten Island Ferry (free!) to Staten Island. For ferry service
departure information, dial (718) 815-BOAT. The ferry trip takes about 25 minutes, and is free.
Once on Staten Island the two main options to reach Wagner from the ferry terminal are either
by car service or bus. Wagner offers shuttle service (free) from the ferry to campus 7 days a week.

Once you disembark from the ferry, follow signs for the Wagner College Shuttle, which is located
on the upper level. Click here for the shuttle schedule.
From Ferry by Car Service, either ask the ferry terminal attendant for help calling for service, use
a car that is waiting at the terminal, or call the office you are visiting beforehand for
recommendations of the services we use most frequently. A typical car service fare is about $10
for two passengers, and is only about a 15 minute trip.
Bus from Brooklyn: (Over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge) Take the S53 bus from the 86th Street
& 4th Avenue (R) train station to Howard Avenue and Clove Road in Staten Island. At this stop,
transfer to the S66, or the Grymes Hill shuttle bus. This bus travels a loop around Grymes Hill,
and there is a stop on Howard Avenue at our campus. A bus trip costs $2.75, exact change
(quarters only) or MetroCard, trip times will vary depending on frequency of bus service. With
MetroCard, you automatically get a free transfer to the S66 bus; with cash, ask the driver for a
transfer pass.
