Title: Computed Tomography imaging has high diagnostic yield for unintentional weight loss at Counties Manukau District Health BoardKatherine Given, Department of Gastroenterology, Middlemore Hospital, Auckland, New ZealandAbstract: Unintentional weight loss poses a diagnostic dilemma due to a wide differential diagnosis. Following basic diagnostic investigations, cross-sectional imaging such as CT chest, abdomen and Pelvis (CT-CAP) is often performed with the aim of excluding malignancy. There are no guidelines on which patients should follow this pathway. The purpose of this audit is to evaluate the yield of CT-CAP in these patients, identify predisposing factors for positive findings, and identify inequalities that may exist in our multicultural population.

Title: Gaba agonist baclofen increases beta cell Mass and c peptide level in pa-tients with type 1 diabetesMahmoud younis, Kafr El Sheikh General HospitalAbstract: At the onset of T1D, more than 70% of β-cells are destroyed (2), whereas the residual β-cells most likely represent the only reservoir for the regeneration of islet β-cell mass (3).It was found that treatment of rodents with GABA (Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid) could convert glucagon-producing cells to large numbers of β-like cells seen both as increased islet size and number. Importantly, this dramatic regeneration could reverse severe diabetes induced by the β cell toxin streptozocin.

Title: Integrative Medicine Approach to Caring Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with Gastrointestinal

Yu-Lan Chiang, Red House Children’s Hospital, Longyou, ChinaAbstract: No two children with ASD are alike and no single care plan is one size-fits-all. In this respect, studies have shown that a majority of ASD children display gastrointestinal symptoms, which impacts neurodevelopment during early childhood in susceptible subjects by way of gut-brain axis. Thus, we performed an uncontrolled pilot study to assess the efficacy of Integrative Medicine (IM) approach, based on specific carbohydrate diet-diary free diet, bio-

medical, lifestyle, behavioural, music and sand art intervention, to caring five children, ages 4-6, diagnosed with an ASD with gastrointestinal symptoms for 12 weeks. All completed a 3-day washout period with Dietary Guideline

for Chinese resident. All Parents were signed informed consent forms.

Title: Complete Heart Block in Scrub TyphusPreeti Dalal, Govt. Medical College and Hospital, ChandigarhAbstract: Scrub typhus is an acute febrile, infectious illness caused by rickettsia O. Tsutsugamushi. It was first de-scribed in detail by Hashimoto from Japan in 1810. Scrub typhus is endemic to a part of world known as the “ Tsu-tsugamushi triangle’’ which extends from northern Japan and far-eastern Russia in the north, to northern Australia in the south, and to Pakistan and Afghanistan in the west. In India rickettsial infections have been documented from the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Assam, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Title: Prescription usage of antibiotics in geriatric patientsTambe Daniel.A, East West College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru, Karnataka, IndiaAbstract: Geriatric patients are patients with impaired overall functions. There is no set age, but usually more than 60 years old with chronic illness, physical impairment or cognitive impairment. Evidence shows high prevalence of inappropriate usage of antibiotics in the special population such as geriatrics, which could lead to increase risk of adverse drug reactions, mortality, morbidity, increase cost of treatment and increase antibiotic resistance.

Title: Initial experience with intragastric balloon lexbal ® in the treatment of patients with mild to moderate obesity (type I-II)Fernando Robledo, Buenos Aires, ArgentinaAbstract: Conclusions: Treatment with intragastric balloon, along with a nutritional monitoring allows us to re-edu-cate the patient, and change their eating habits. • Just for gradual diet, and to adapt each phase as tolerated by the patient, helps us to improve dietary behavior and facilitates greater weight loss The intragastric balloon is a safe, well tolerated, with few adverse effects and relatively simple in the hands accustomed to endoscopic practice.

Title: Effect of Ethanolic Leaf Extract of Moringa oleifera on Aluminum-induced Anemia in White Albino Rats

Mohamed E. Shayoub, Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of PharmacyAbstract: The study aimed to investigate the effect of ethanolic leaf extract of Moringa oleifera on AlCl 3-induced

anemia in albino rats. Twenty-four rats (average body weight 284 g) were divided into four groups each of six: group (A) was provided with 0.5 mg/kg body weight of AlCl 3, group (AM) with AlCl 3 and 10 minutes later with M.

oleifera extract (300 mg/kg body weight), group (M) with M. oleifera extract (300 mg/kg) alone and the control group (C) with normal saline solution only.

Title: Exploration of Flavonoid as an Adjuvant Therapy against Breast CancerRamsha Khalid, University of Karachi , PakistanAbstract: Breast Cancer, one of the leading causes of death in females, is a complex multifactorial disorder, with the pathophysiology and molecular mechanism still not completely unraveled. It can be hypothesized that the dysregula-tion of breast cancer associated proteins can potentially lead to malignancies. It has been identified that the B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCl2), eukaryotic initiation factor-4A (EIF4aI) and tumor suppressor p53 proteins are chiefly associ-ated with breast tumorgenesis.

About Yokohama

Yokohama, a Japanese city south of Tokyo, was one of the first Japanese ports opened to foreign trade, in 1859. It contains a large Chinatown with hundreds of Chinese restaurants and shops. It’s also known for Sankei-en Garden, a botanical park containing preserved Japanese residences from different eras, and the seaside Minato Mirai district, site of the 296m Landmark Tower.

Yokohama’s population of 3.7 million makes it Japan’s largest city after the special wards of Tokyo. Yokohama developed rapidly as Japan’s prominent port city following the end of Japan’s relative isolation in the mid-19th century and is today one of its major ports along with Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Hakata, Tokyo, and China.

Yokohama features a humid subtropical climate with hot and humid summers and chilly winters. Weather-wise, Yokohama has a mixed bag of rain, clouds and sun, although in winter, it is surprisingly sunny, more so than Southern Spain.
