If you are not willing to travel, please do not register for that section. We have RRC/Avery classes every semester. Please notice that MGT 3353 labs are assigned to specific lectures. Please verify that the lecture and the lab work with your class schedule. If you want to register for a management course that is closed for the summer or fall semester, please fill out a closed class request form found on our website. For summer registration only: Students eligible to graduate in August 2015 must have special approval to register for MGT 4335 during Summer I or Summer II. You must meet ALL the prerequisites for MGT 4335 and have ALL credits completed or registered for. This is your capstone course and is your last requirement. Please fill out the form once you are registered for all requirements left by visiting the special approval form found on our website. PROFESSOR SPOTLIGHT Dr. Brian K. Miller recently had two empirical research papers accepted for publicaon in the journal “Personality and Individual Differences.” The first is solo-authored and tled “Entlement and conscienousness in the predicon of organizaonal deviance.” The second is co-authored with Dr. Dennis Smart and Dr. Paula Rechner and is tled “Confirmatory factor analysis of the Machiavellian Personality Scale.” Dr. Miller also had his paper tled “Hindering the help: Polics and engagement in volunteer service organizaons” accepted for presentaon at the annual conference of the Academy of Management in Vancouver, Brish Columbia, Canada in August. The conference paper is co-authored with University of Minnesota doctoral student Ms. Liz Adair, Dr. Kay Nicols, and Dr. Dennis Smart. Ms. Adair earned her MBA here at Texas State last May. STUDENT SPOTLIGHT Vanessa Marquez Williams graduated from Texas State University as a Management major with a concentraon in Entrepreneurial Studies. Aſter graduaon, Vanessa opened up a restaurant in El Paso, Texas named Papa Pita. Her restaurant has been opened for 11 months and has won several local awards. Congratulaons, Vanessa! We wish you the best of luck with your restaurant, and are so proud to have you as a management alumna. Student Spotlight— Business Plan Competition McCoy College of Business Administration hosted the inaugural Matt & Jodi Edgar Texas State University Undergraduate Business Plan Competition on April 10, 2015. Participants had already competed in the written executive summary and business plan portion prior to being selected to participate in the presentation round held in McCoy College. Nine teams were selected to present in the semi-final rounds in the morning. From the semi-final rounds, three teams were selected to pitch their business plan to the final judges. The winners were: 1st place and $3,000: Your Auto—Clayton Lehman (Management, Entrepreneurship BBA 2014) and Frank Super (PR senior), 2nd place and $2,000: Beauty Granted (Mia Hair)—David Poku (Management, senior), 3rd Place and $1,000: Live Happy Live Healthy—Kristi Murphy (Management, entrepreneurship Senior).
