In Memoriam of our Congregation Members
In this memorial hour we recall with profound sorrow those
members of our congregation family who have been called to Life
Eternal during 5779. Their memories are enshrined in this
sanctuary and are gratefully recorded upon the tablets of our
hearts. May the source of all comfort send consolation and healing
to those who mourn them. May their memories endure among us as
a lasting benediction. Amen.

In Memory of Mother
By the foot of Sinai our forefathers once heard God’s commandment:
“Honor thy Mother.” How sweet it is to recall the tender love of mother.
How deeply impressed in our mind is the vision of her kind face; the
smile on her lips; the loving look in her eye, sometimes saddened by a
tear. For every childish offense there was her forgiveness. For every
effort there was her unfailing encouragement. Many were the sacrifices
she made to ennoble my heart and instruct my mind. I pray that your
spirit inspire me to noble and intelligent living so that when my days on
earth are ended I shall be deemed worthy to be reunited with you and
God. Amen.

In Memory of Father
By the foot of Sinai our forefathers once heard God’s commandment:
“Honor thy Father.” In the immaturity of childhood, we may not have
grasped the true meaning of that Divine ordinance. But now, our hearts
summon us to eternal gratitude and profound reverence for Father as we
recall his kindness, love and encouragement. He rejoiced in our
achievements, guided us in our perplexities and strengthened us in our
trials and disappointments. We can pay tribute to him by cherishing the
ideals and principles which he taught us. May the memories of his life
spur me on to follow truth and righteousness. Amen.
Congregational Meditation
Our God, and God of our fathers, we recall at this time the memory
of loved ones who no longer walk in the land of the living, but who
live on in our thoughts, affection, and devotion. Children are
mindful of the love that parents tendered them, the sacrifices that
they endured for them, and the joys that they brought them.
Husbands and wives remember bonds of love consecrated in Thy
presence. They recall mutual faith and affectionate understanding.
The shared hopes and combined fears, the anxious trials and the
desperate griefs, the successes and the failures, the sadness and
joys live on in their hearts.
Parents mourn a beloved child cut down prematurely for whom
they hoped, and upon whom they showered their love. Brothers
and sisters remember the happy fellowship, the carefree years of
childhood and youth with those who have parted in death. We all
remember with tender feelings the friends who were dear to us in
life, whose friendship, understanding, and compassion were a boon
to us in life.
We solemnly recall the countless martyrs of our people who
sacrificed their all for sanctification of Thy name and gave their
lives for the honor of all Israel.
Hashem, what is man that You recognize him? The son of a frail human
that You reckon with him? Man is like a breath, his days are like a passing shadow.
In the morning it blossoms and is rejuvenated, by evening it is cut down
and brittle. According to the count of our days, so may You teach us; then we shall
acquire a heart of wisdom.
Safeguard the perfect and watch the upright, for the destiny of that man
is peace.
But God will redeem my soul from the grip of the Lower World, for He
will take me, Selah!
My flesh and my heart yearn — Rock of my heart, and my portion is
God, forever.
Thus the dust returns to the ground as it was, and the spirit returns to
God who gave it.

A Fitting Memorial to The Deceased
In our Synagogue there are Memorial
Boards containing the names of our
departed loved ones. Each name is
inscribed on an individual plaque
bearing the date of death in Hebrew
and English. There are memorial lights
on each side of the plaque which are lit
on their Yahrzeit and at every Yizkor
service.
These plaques are very traditional and a
meaningful way to keep the memory of
your loved ones alive in our shul.

please call the synagogue office.
