    Foreword

The repertory of approved hymns, melodies and chants included herein was selected from that of the original Pius X Hymnal. The music has been trans-posed to medium-low keys and especially arranged for congregational singing in parishes, schools, seminaries, and convents. With the exception of music for

Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, no service music as such has been included. On the other hand, hymns have been chosen for seasonal and general use at the principal feasts and services of the liturgical year.

A special medium-low key accompaniment for this book has been prepared

    and is available separately.
