What makes the St. Claude Bridge Unsafe?
Dangerous infrastructure on the St. Claude Bridge includes:
• Extremely narrow road conditions for bikers and walkers
• Lack of signage and crosswalks on the bridge
• Speeding vehicles and lack of enforcement of speed limits
• Shared bicycle and freight lane, putting bikers in direct conflict with large trucks
Quick Fixes:
• Improving signage on the bridge to indicate that bicycles may use the full lane
• Re-stripe the roadway to reinforce the shared lane
• Enforce speed limits on the bridge
