MB Services to Youth

MatchBridge focuses on building relationships with

employers to secure work-based learning experiences

such as jobs and internships for youth in San

Francisco…

Our services include:

• Web-based job matching service for youth

• Regular employer recruitment events

• Individual job placements for “hot leads”

• In-person assistance through partner organizations

• Business Pathways - sector-based internships

• 8-week paid summer internship at a variety of sector-based employers from real estate to finance and tech.

• 75 interns were placed in the 2013 program at 34 employers such as Jawbone, Airbnb, BRE Properties and Jamba Juice

• Interns perform basic office support functions and are provided with learning experiences such as site visits, staff meetings, and informational interviews with executives

• Employers are recruited by MatchBridge to interview young people for their openings on site – the goal is to enter them into the hiring process as quickly as possible

• In addition, MatchBridge refers youth members to employers to fill single positions – our “hot leads”

• Worked with 100+ employers in the last 5 years, including:– Starbucks – Jawbone– Ross – UPS– Ghirardelli – SFO– Airbnb – Levi’s– Lowe’s – Sephora– Enterprise – Old Navy

• MatchBridge was selected to be San Francisco’s provider for jobs and internships for youth 16-24 for the next three years

• Began as the San Francisco Summer Jobs+ program in 2012 and is now year-round

• 5,204 youth were provided with work-based learning opportunities in 2012

• This year’s goal – 6,000 work opportunities. So far in our count we are over 6,200!

• Employers post positions via MatchBridge and youth can access them online at www.sfsummerjobs.org
