The city has again partnered with Bella Vista Neighbors, a neighborhood program and website, to provide an online map of garage sale locations during the two days for shoppers’ ease in locating sales. This is the year to get your golf game in shape! Learning how to play golf requires an instructor, just as students need a teacher and football players need a coach. The professional golf staff of Bella Vista have the knowledge and ability to prioritize the adjustments needed to give you the perfect swing. Each golfer holds a different set of skills, physical abilities and golf goals, which is why the staff believes it is imperative that students are treated as individuals. With countless years of teaching experience, the PGA and LPGA coaches carry the patience to help every student improve and achieve their dream of better golf. Both private and group lessons are available for players of all ages and skill levels. Private instructions are offered to students who desire a more one-on-one, personal approach to improving their game. For golfers who prefer a group setting, there are plenty of programs held right in Bella Vista!
Get Golf Ready!In just five sessions, Get Golf Ready is designed to teach players everything they need to know. These co-ed classes will be conducted by the Bella Vista POA’s PGA Professionals, Gavin Smith and Alex Sanford. Each session will focus on various golf skills that are used while playing. Which is why this intro to Golf Program – conducted by Women for Women, follows the overall student-centered LPGA Integrated Performance System. The Bella Vista Golf Fest is a FREE event open to all golfers throughout Northwest Arkansas. The top golf manufacturers will be showcasing their newest equipment. They will have expert fitters along with launch monitors to help fit for the optimal ball or club selection for each individual golfer – ensuring that golfers are playing with the proper equipment.
Lasering the Flag Golfers know too well the frustration of “lasering a flag” and hitting the tree or fan in the background! We have added reflective tape to the flagsticks on Dogwood just below the bottom of the flag to help lasers “shoot” the pole and not the background. Golfers may need to retrain their instinct to shoot the top of the pole by aiming a bit lower to hit the tape. All POA golf courses will have tape on the flags by Summer.

Kids Fishing Derby - May 16, Metfield Pond • 8am–NoonThis year’s derby will be held at the Metfield Pond, (Commonwealth Road), behind the Metfield Golf Complex. The kids will be catching channel catfish. This is a free event • Big fish prizes will be awarded • Must bring own bait and tackle, sunblock, and water • One adult for every two children fishing • No drop offs • Adults do not need a fishing license to assist children.

Save the Date - Easter Egg Hunt on April 11 Head over to Kingsdale Park at 3 Riordan Drive, on Saturday April 11 for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Pictures with the Bunny, free egg and toy hunt and the Golden Egg are all part of the fun for Bella Vista Members. The egg/toy hunt will be broken out into four age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12 years with a staggered start. There will be one special Golden Egg per age group. The child that finds that egg will redeem it for a special prize. Please note parking will be limited by the Kingsdale playground/pool parking lot, additional parking is available on the east side of the outdoor swimming pools.

Spring Bazaar - Saturday April 18 At Riordan Hall, 3 Riordan Dr. Join us for our Spring Bazaar at Riordan Hall, Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Free Admission to all! Mimosas, Bloody Mary’s and specialty coffees will also be available to sip as you shop or relax and rejuvenate for continued shopping in our “Customer Lounge.” Up to 50 artisan vendors will be displaying and selling their hand-made items such as jewelry, stained glass, paintings, candles, specialty soaps, needlework, woodcarvings, collectibles and so much more. Mark Saturday, April 18 on your calendars and plan to attend Bella Vista POA “Kids Summer Activity Sign-Up Day” at Riordan Hall from 9 a.m. until 12 Noon. Youth swim lesson sessions fill up quickly so plan to attend.
Bella Vista Summer Recreational Swim TeamBella Vista Recreational Swim Team, the Stingrays, will meet at Kingsdale Outdoor Pool for two, 3-week sessions this summer. Coach Lisa Richards is returning for her 8th season with the Stingrays.
Session 1: Monday, June 1 - Thursday, June 18Session 2: Monday, July 6 – Thursday, July 23
Children are invited to join one or both sessions. Practice is Monday–Thursday mornings, 11–18 year old swimmers begin 8 a.m., 7–10 year olds begin 9 a.m., 5–6 year olds begin 10 a.m. Swim team participants are required to be able to swim free style a mininum of 25 yards without stopping. Kingsdale Pool will host two swim meets this summer and several other meet opportunities have been scheduled at area pools. Participation in meets is not required, but encouraged.
