History

Historically, Lincoln Square has been a German town and is where the Chicago branches of German American National Congress are located. Lincoln Square plaza was built to evoke “Old World flavor” with European-styled shops.

Demographics- Population: 44,000

Observation: German influenced● We saw several German

businesses including Lutz Bakery and the Chicago Brauhaus

● We heard several people speaking German

● We noticed many of the decorations (lamp posts, fountains, etc..) were German style
