This community is one of the smallest at UNC, but among the most active. It is also the most unique, with an all-female hall (Aycock) and all-male hall (Graham). This community is nearly equidistant from both campus dining halls and both student gyms and features the popular suite-style floor plan. Close to the Dean Dome, Kenan Stadium and Rams Head Dining Hall, Manning West is one of UNC’s newest communities and features two-bedroom suites. With more than 900 first-year residents, HoJo is one of the most social communities on campus. An all first-year student community, this hall’s landmark bridge from Manning Drive makes it unique from the other communities on South Campus. RAM VILLAGE NICKNAME: Rams This community includes five separate buildings that feature apartment-style living spaces, complete with full kitchens, living rooms and options for private baths. Coco is near the center of it all, just steps from The Pit and less than five minutes’ walk to Davis Library and the Student Rec Center. OLDE CAMPUS UPPER QUAD NICKNAME: OCUQ This historic area of campus features the oldest residence hall at UNC, Old East, which was also the first building erected on a state university campus. These two all first-year student halls offer a small-community feel in the center of bustling South Campus. BAITY HILL (NOT DESIGNATED) This is UNC’s apartment community strictly for graduate students with families and individual graduate students with or without roommates. MORRISON COMMUNITY NICKNAME: Mo-Town As UNC’s “green” residence hall, Morrison utilizes solar panels for greater energy efficiency. Its top three floors feature the always popular SuperSuites. EHRINGHAUS COMMUNITY NICKNAME: E-haus Ehringhaus has an all first-year student population and is an ideal community for those making the transition to college.
