ShadowSea - Conquest of the Underground World, is a 28 mm scale tabletop wargame set in an alternate history of Earth in the late 17th century, where adventurers have discovered a lost underground world beneath a frozen southern continent. Here, seekers of fortune and native forces battle for ancient technology, golden artifacts and other mysterious treasure of antiquity. Warbands explore and battle through multiple distinct environments, such as steaming fungal forests, crumbling city ruins, deadly coastal shorelines and even underwater fortresses, all patrolled by ravenous creatures, stygian monsters and ancient automatons.

Players choose from six distinct forces to battle in the underground realm, creating warbands that require only a handful of miniatures to play. Each character in the warband can improve after battles, giving the game a RPG feel, and players can even design their own characters, weapons and “ether-tech” artifacts. ShadowSea is also fully compatible with DeepWars, so that players can use models across both games and create sprawling land and sea battles.

Above all, ShadowSea is about fun and fast gameplay, with scenarios lasting less than an hour. The rules are designed to be modular, so they are easy to learn but have enough complexity for players to play in a variety of styles. Players might choose to take out enemies in reckless charges, climb and jump across obstacles get to hidden treasures, or simply blast enemies to smoking ruin with magical spells. Multiple types of gameplay can achieve victory, so players can try inventive tactics and create memorable game experiences.
