Constantine Dushenov is Christian Russian writer, editor, reporter, producer and a

political activist who lives in the Russian Federation. In violation of the Constitution of

that state which guaranties the freedom of speech, freedom of beliefs, freedom of press,est. he was arrested, prosecuted, and sentenced to 3 years in prison for his movie

Russiastabbed in the back ( ). Even in prison he wastreated with exceptional cruelty: withing 10 months he was transferred 3 times to

different penitentiaries, deprived from practicing his religion, beaten severely by the

guards, refused medical assistance and contact with his attorney, His 13 year old son

Ivan Dushenov was illegally interrogated and terrorized by the police. Now there is a

reason to worry for Dushenov's life itself.

Constantine Dushenov defined his ordeals as not even political in nature but rather

religious. But, of course, those two are connected. He sad: In Russia today it is a crime

to be a Christian. It is a crime to quote Christ and his apostles... Dushenov believes that

his political opponents are primarily religious opponents, and it is precisely traditional

canonical Christianity being prosecuted by the government which in the Russian

Dushenov was a Christian activist who informed the public aboutthe political and religious realities. At the same time he stood strong inRussian Orthodox tradition of Christianity.
