Consequences of Using Smartphone
Technology and “ The Internet of
Things “ on Our Society
1
THE REASON IS
WE'RE IN
“THE AGE OF ACCELERATION”.
MANKIND NEEDS TIME TO ADJUST TO
DRAMATIC CHANGE USUALLY 10 TO 15
YEARS THE LAST TURNING POINT
0CCURRED IN 2007
Section 1 Why does everyone feel this Impact, Now?
2
Impact depends upon the adaption time available to the
society and culture involved Currently it’s to short
Ladies and gentlemen, I have been asked to give you a presentation about “technology’s impact on our society”. We are now in the 21st century and experiencing an accelerating the rate of technological change belong mankind’s current ability to adapt pivotal shift in diverse technologies since 2007.
We are in a new transitional period, where technology is reshaping our economy and our culture, as well as distributing our markets by globalization, (Friedman,2016). Dev Seidman, (Microsoft, 2016) has said, “our world is no only being reshaped, our society is starting to operate differently in many realms of our economy”(i.e. music business, Kodak film business, Publishing business. Map making business)The last time this happen was in 1900 at the turn of the century between the 19th and 20th century when society shifted from using steam to oil and gas which disrupted every section of the economy.
The famous scientist, Marie Curie, deal with the disruption and disoriented with her quote “Nothing in life is to be feared, It only must be understood” so we can deal with it. Humankind was adapted then within 20 to 30 years from the Victorian era to the roaring twenties. However , they also experienced the great worldwide depression Everyone was uncomfortable, disoriented and had to change jobs, education and relocate. Many industries closed ; other new industries gradually developed. It took World War II to restart most of the world's economies
The problem is , unfortunately, as the rate of change gets faster; it exceeds man’s ability to adapt.
This causes dislocation of whole environments (business sectors) so quickly that everyone starts to feel it.
Furthermore, to adapt, we must reshape ourselves, our leadership, our educational institutions, our societies and their cultures even our ethical choices.
3
Surprise During Christmas 2016 ,
If you want to read about this dramatic
change in rate of acceleration take a look at
these two recent non-fiction books.
1)Thomas L Friedman’s , a 3 time Pulitzer winner, Thank you for being Late, “An Optimists Guide to Thriving in the Age of Acceleration”
2)Yuval Noah Harari, Sapiens, A Brief History of Humankind, University of Oxford
4
Eric “Astro” Teller, CEO of Google X, 2016 has thankfully said that there is “another
competing curve that can change the rate at which humanity (the individual, the society
and its institution) can adapt to change”.
The sum of new human knowledge has already out strip any individual’s ability or capacity to learn.
In the 20th century, man’s adaption rate was approximately 10-15 years.
The good news is certain individuals, companies and institutions are getting better than society as a whole.
The current adaptation rate is approximately 5 and 10 years.
While the technology changes are now around 7 years.
To regulate future development, governments need to estimate the positive and negative consequences.
Currently, the regulation cycle is approximately 10 years. This means the transition period is nearing
completion.
John Kelly III of IBM 2016, who developed Watson says we are “entering the dawn of cognitive computing.”
(i.e. Artificial intelligence that has been designed to have the capability to adapt while making sense out of
unstructured information(photos, music, talk, spreadsheets, x-rays, clinical data, video)) He believes that
this means humans will not have to learn to adapt faster.
The transition time period will, however, most likely be shorten even more. In the last three years,
Watson has dramatically improved cancer chemical treatment therapy by matching dna sequences to
medical monitoring data from 2 t 3 weeks down to 1 hour . Some of the early Social impacts have started
to fade within our society ,once people knew what was causing them and how to deal with them.
Man as usual is Resilient
and Keeps on Fighting
5
The real timing of this dramatic change actually started over the last
45 years. ( Over the last 5 Generations ).The first internet ,”Arpanet” started being
used in 1973, (45 years ago). The second Internet /Web (html) browsing began with
mosaic in 198O ( 36 years ago). Berners-Lee founded the World Wide Web
Consortium (W3C) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with support from
the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).with the European Commission/
In 1994, It took another twenty years (to be implemented around the world in major urban
areas Furthermore,IOT/Web2 was only started in 2002./ (14 years ago)The turning point for
Web 2 to become IOT internet of things for our Global Society occurred around 2007 when
telecommunications switched to software coordinated business
6
What’s creating this New Impact or Change?
Internet of things IOT started in 2007/2008
The IOT is creating a new dimension for our society
Access to data anytime, anywhere for anything thing via a connection to internet
thru any device( whether independent or embedded)such as. : a personal computer , a smart phone, a tablet or any monitoring device (such as glasses, an automobile, a camera, a tv, an Ipod, an e-reader or even a burglar alarm or wearable devices sneakers, belts. Watches etc.} on almost anything that can be defined
However the current challenge or difficulty for the user is
◦ how do you tell if the reported data is correct,?
◦ does it have integrity?
◦ is it valid or reliable?
7
The Future Internet of Things(IOT) or
WEB2 has been Developing since 2008
8
Information overload, It’s Another Form of
Globalization
The Things that you can Access. and The type of data is almost unlimited,
while it is constantly changing and expanding
9
Our Curiosity makes what we see and how it can affect us,
Unpredictable.
The data that we can see is shown in this geometric data expansion below

Impacts of Technology on Economy
Technology’s impact on The World Economy
Silicon Valley is the new roman city state that’s disrupting and dominating the world by ◦ Creating multi-national
corporations: such as Google. Apple and Amazon
◦ Which are taking the business profits out of Europe and Asia
“It's bits America” is reorganizing most economic sectors” which are ◦ Communications, Music, Retail,
Stock markets
◦ Publishing books, magazines and papers
11
What Is Really Causing This Situation?
This Dramatic Change is causing A World Wide Economic Disruption
Due to the latest Industrial Revolution “Information Technology”/exponential shift in cognitive computing using pull apps (artificial intelligence)
Silicon Valley is the new Rome,
◦ a City-state dominating the planet
◦ injecting technology everywhere.
◦ Disrupting existing economies.
Its bits America/
◦ Whose Global Application Re-write to existing products and services its restructuring the world’s GnP
11 US tech companies represent in 2015
◦ 76% of the worlds market cap
◦ And
◦ 87% of global revenue
◦ For example, Google gets 54% of its revenue from outside US. It now has a monopoly on Global Map making at the expense of everywhere else in the world.
The rest of the world wants a piece of this pie like they use to have They now want a IT services Trade Balance
THE EU, Russia, China, and India are all trying to use laws to keep out Change and Technology
Chine wants the manufacturing
ThE EU and India want call center business
12
Mary Meeker’s from Kleiner, Perkins Caufield & Byers,
2015 Annual Global MNC IT corporations list indicates that the
winners were:11 from USA, 6 for China, 2 for Japan and 1 for korea
13
Multinational Corporations (MNC) Definition Top World Wide MNC is 1 Apple
What’s a multinational Corporation?. It is a corporation that has its subsidiaries , facilities and employees in 2 or more countries who generates at least ¼ of its revenue from outside the country where is headquarters resides that:
◦ takes advantage of low cost outsourcing of manufacturing using Japanese Kanban production process (only making product after it is sold),
◦ low cost transportation, does
Which does not own most of its facilities (no plants, no warehouse, no transportation resources, no stores, no unskilled employees)
◦ maintains research and development design facilities in multiple countries with highly skilled and educated professionals design teams
◦ to make convenient customized products which are highly profitable which have
a limited product annual life cycle (1 year or less)
a limited product liability or warranty
a high customer update demand in multiple countries
◦ using internet networks with numerous data centers, multilingual web sites
That generates high credit cash flows that can take advantage of currency conversions and cash manipulation advantages
14
There is however wide disagreement among
people, countries and societies about using

Negative Impacts of Technology/software on Social Structure
i.e. fraud, scams , ransom emails ,hackers, identity, and
bank theft. is allowing Crime to move to a new location ,the
Internet
17
Human Threats , Attack Vectors and
The US Government Agencies involved There are Three major threat groups
1.Students (high school, and college) plus non-technical employees who are unsophisticated and who don’t attack specific targets. “Quote the general public “ if you setup your defenses, they can be stopped in most cases.
2.Sophisticated programmers ( hackervits, corporate hackers, and cyber criminals who are out to make money and they do
3. Experienced it professionals, that include cyber terrorists, cyber warriors, cyber fighters, and nation states, A normal internet user if attacked by them has little chance .
Every successful attack, or exploit is both Unique and at the same time a heavily Researched vulnerability that may or may not be known by anyone a Zero day attack ,
Only your backups can save you
The agencies start at the lowest level and work up that is
from local police to the us President In 2015
the US spends over 12 billion dollars on federal agencies alone.
These are mostly for script kiddies unsophisticated coders
◦ 1. local police
◦ 2.County police
◦ 3 .State police
◦ 4 Home land Security division
Next come agencies dealing with cyber criminals, hackerists,,corporate hackers and cyber criminals sophisticated coders
◦ 4 us corporate cyber security
◦ 5 Darpa CERT teams , Univ of Carnegie Mellon
◦ 6 FBI cyber division
Next comes experienced IT professionals against cyberterrorists, cyber warriors, cyber fighters, nation states
◦ 7 . US military Cyber security commands ,army , navy/coast guard, Air force (over 100.000)
◦ 8 . US intelligence agencies CIA and NSA (not available)
◦ 9 .US Cyber Command (Not available New)
◦ 10 US President

Social networks and text messaging/ twitter are harassed by trolls
• An Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the intent of provoking readers into an emotional ...
19
To Stop Hackers, Trolls and Their
Malware, Computer Users must defend
their devices and backup their Data
Every device must
have ◦ A Firewall
◦ An antivirus Screening
program
◦ A secured web browser
◦ An secured e-mail app
◦ An anti-theft app
Every operating and
application software
must be ◦ Maintained & updated regularly
◦ Have a Back-up off that device
weekly
◦ Been Vaccinated regularly
◦ Have original re-install disks in case
the hardware fails
◦ Have a list of activation codes off
device

What Technological Impact’s do we appear
to see occurring, changes in our brains,
economy, and society in the News!
How technology is changing our brain.
1. reducing man’s attention span. (Long term studies now underway)
2. reduced use of short term memory such as telephone numbers, road routes etc.
3. increased occurrence of depression in heavy internet users(Long term studies now underway).
4. changes in development of social skills some are benefiting others are being inhibited (Long term studies now underway).
5 reduced utilization of sleeping time (Long term studies now underway).
6 increase stress when reading due to response demands (Long term studies now underway).
7. increased use of multitasking effects still unknown(Long term studies now underway).
8. increase use of gps and navigation applications is changing how the brain remembers those who memorize science and routes taxi cab drivers versus Sunday drivers who us google maps don’t remember scenic high lights as well (Long term studies now underway
21
What’s Really Happening?
IS it due to :
The Technology,
Your Age ,
Or
Something Else?
Lack of Transition Time
22
There are many Perspectives
on how Technology creates Impact
23
What Kind of Technology is involved?
24
What Components
effects Social Impact? The components are: ◦ The Exposure or Access
versus
◦ Transition Time
◦ People
Social networks
◦ To Technology
Twitter /text messaging
Cellular/Mobile phone
◦ To The Society and
◦ The Economy Involved
25
How does Society really get affected?
A society is a group of people involved in persistent social interaction, or a large social grouping sharing the same geographical or social territory, typically subject to the same political authority and dominant cultural expectations
◦ a society may be illustrated as an economic, social, industrial or cultural infrastructure, made up of, yet distinct from, a varied collection of individuals.
◦ A society can mean the objective relationships that people have with the material world and with other people
◦ Basic components of a society are: Population Culture Material products Social organization Social institutions (schools, libraries, churches, etc.)
◦ And the interaction between them ,
Technology is The purposeful application of information ( an interaction)) in the design, production, and utilization of goods and services, and in the organization of human activities.
Implications, consequences and Impact of interactions upon users starts within a geographic territory with an individual and then proceeds up through institutions, to schools, and organizations to
the economy and businesses into national politics. Than inter-nationally into crisis , collapses and even war
That is people are effected, have an impact, they then effect their institutions and business who then effect the national governments involved.
26
How did Our Society actually
recognize what was Happening ?
Historically, Time passed and The Technology Changed , while Communication was revolutionized
Your Children grew up with new toys, the internet, the cell phone and Search Engines
Than change started rapidly occurring everywhere on different continents in different ways at different times
first trade changed,
Second your local businesses started to disappear with big box stores And then many national businesses were taken over by foreign corporations
Third Communication dramatically changed due to using the www world wide web
Fourth Globalization started to rapidly expand in the northern hemispheres of world
a)Manufacturing industries and jobs went first
b)next, came financial institutions(insurance, brokerage and finally banks
c) then the media industry changed music , art, movies
& video broadcasting first news, than drama and finally comedy crossed to different continents
Fifth , Apple restructured the music industry with I-tunes, and ipod and the record stores disappeared.
Sixth In 2008 , the financially industry collapsed and we got worldwide recessions, terrorism and stagnation.
Than. Every country started to lose their middle class jobs.
Now multinational corporations (MNC) are becoming monopolies
27

What Social Age is
Our Society At Currently?
29
WHAT CAUSED THESE
CHANGES AND IMPACT?
WHEN, WHERE AND
WHY ARE THEY
OCCURRING?
Section 2 Introduction
30
Impact is a strong effect on someone or something
Implication is a conclusion that can be
reached from something
although it is not explicitly
stated
• Consequence is
• something that happens as a
result of a particular action or
set of conditions
synonyms: suggestion, insinuation,
innuendo, hint, intimation, "
31
synonyms: result, upshot, outcome,
effect, repercussion,
ramification, corollary,
concomitant, aftermath,
aftereffect;
synonyms: effect, influence, significance, meaning
The Social Impacts, Implications and Consequences
from using the Internet and Smartphone Technology can be
both positive and negative.
What does This really mean?
“It depends upon the perspective of” the user or viewer,
You.
32
Warning! How The Impact affects you
depends upon You, the user involved.
There is not a single set of answers that can answer the question being asked
because it depends upon several different social , economic and cultural factors which are:
Who is the person asking the questions?
What is his or her perspective view of his or her society?
Where does he or she live and work?
When and How does he or she use technology?
WHY does he or she think that there are impacts and consequences?
Is it due to
their socioeconomic class, religious beliefs, background or education?
whether the impacts and consequences are actually positive or negative?
OR How long it takes you to adapt to change?
33
Your Perspective, unfortunately, is also dependent upon
your own previous background And what your
currently doing to change it ! The variables that effects your background, your decisions and values are
your:
1. Sex
2. Age
3. Health
4. Education as well as whether you're doing anything to change it
5. Existing or previous job
6. Family plus its national and /or culture structure as well as
a. Racial or Ethnic background
b. Your Native / first language
c Plus whether or not you read and speak a foreign language
7. Socioeconomic Status , “Yes, how much financial resources you have to
spend on the internet effect how you experience technologies impact”.
for example,
The first known impact is “The Digital Divide”,
a. What Equipment you use to access the internet and
b. What ISP internet service provider speed you buy
34
Smartphones Growth began in
2007 less than 9 years ago A smartphone is a mobile phone with an
advanced mobile operating system which combines features of a personal computer operating system with other features useful for mobile or handheld use.
◦ They typically combine the features of a cell phone with those of other popular mobile devices, such as personal digital assistant (PDA), media player and GPS navigation unit. In early 2007,
Apple Inc. introduced the iPhone, one of the first smartphones to use a multi-touch interface. The iPhone was notable for its use of a large touchscreen for direct finger input as its main means of interaction, instead of a stylus, keyboard, or keypad typical for smartphones previously.
In October 2008, the first phone to use Android called the HTC Dream (also known as the T-Mobile G1) was released.
◦ Android is an open-source platform founded by Andy Rubin and now owned by Google.
Although Android's adoption was relatively slow at first, it started to gain widespread popularity in 2010, and in early 2012 it dominated the smartphone market with 95% share worldwide, which continues to this day/ less than 4 years ago.

36
Since The Internet of Things (IOT) began Less
than a generation ago.
Yes, the internet of things (IOT)
started less than 10 years ago,. Web 2
and smart phones together has only existed 6 year.
Millennials in US also known as the Generation Y, are the last defined cohort Commentators use the birth dates range from the early 1980s to the early 2000s . For them
Yes. That’s right they have not even got a name for the generation for 2000 to 2020. when the internet of
things was implemented
Verified studies on Impact are limited , IOT is just growing too fast to properly study
37
“ The Digital Divide” was [The first reported impact]on
Society in 1984 (32 years ago)for both the World Wide Web
(WWW) The Web and The WEB2/IOT
Since 1984 social research throughout the world in communities and schools has been
reporting a major separation or isolation between the haves and have nots in every culture and
nation on earth due to Lack of Access to the Internet
The immediate accommodation for this first impact was to provide computers in
schools and libraries in first world nations to provide free access to the WEB. This is
accommodation is now occurring in 2nd and 3rd world countries
the next associated second impact ,however, was lack of email and/ or access to web
based job recruitment sites which limited have nots, low socioeconomic workers from
opportunities to get better paying jobs. The second accommodation was to have
unemployment centers provide computers to job applicants to apply for jobs in USA
Many churches are now providing access to computers for their parishioners as the third
accommodation to help them organize their own Communities. Social Groups and Club
activities
Currently Adoption of smartphones and tablets has now however lower the price of
internet access so teenagers usually have access using family devices. After 32 years transition,
most society's in first world ( northern continents) economy are now adapting
38
COMMUNITY IMPACTS ARE
A “ THE DIGITAL DIVIDE” BETWEEN HAVES
AND HAVE NOTS
B) “DISRUPTED POLITICAL AND SOCIAL
ORGANIZATION” WITHIN CHURCHES, SOCIAL
ORGANIZATIONS AND LOCAL BUSINESSES
C) “DISRUPTED ECONOMIES” , & INDUSTRIES
SUCH AS PHOTOGRAPHY, MUSIC, PUBLISHING, & TV
Section 3 What do we actually know about the Documented Social Impacts?(I.E. peer reviewed/verified research)
39
Research on Social Impacts of
The Web2 / “Internet of things” Current research themes across social domains indicates that the Internet tends
to complement rather than displace existing media and patterns of behavior..
in each domain, the ultimate social implications of this technology, moreover, depends upon
the economic, legal, and policy decisions of the local governments that are shaping the future Internet as it becomes institutionalized..
The Initial five domains: researched has been identified as areas of interest in 1984 are:
1) Inequality (the "digital divide"); it has been documented since 1984 (32 years)
2) Community and social capital; it has been documented since 2004 (14 years)
3) Modifying political participation; Currently it has been identified 2008 to have many diverse impacts on different groups, but it has not yet been documented by valid and reliable research studies
4) Changing organizations and other economic institutions; it has been Documented that it makes scheduling meetings and collection of funds easier plus more effective for small community groups 2015
5) Cultural participation and cultural diversity. Has been reported but it Still has not been documented by valid and reliable research studies
40
The Internet’s second Impact upon communities was to
change existing group cohesion both positively and negatively
The Internet decreases community cohesion by facilitating global communication at the expense of local involvement, and results in more individual isolation
the Internet transforms community cohesion
by changing the means of communication
and altering the structure of existing social groups.
The Internet supplements existing community groups by offering different ways to communicate with individuals, and facilitates which increases community organization such as churches and social organizations and scheduling of activities
41
Three Positive and Three Negative known
Impacts of Smartphones as of 2016 are:
42
Social impact ‘“Isolation or Digital Divide” are they different
views of depression or addiction? No one really knows Yet!
Every culture is different, the rates of acceleration vary by
continent, nation and social group involved
43
The Most Popular Activities on the older Internet Web 1
as of 2005 “before the Internet of Things Web 2 provided
unlimited access” were:

The Known Positive Economic Impacts
of the WEB2 are Multinational
corporations (MNC)with:
45
The Known Negative Problems from using the
Internet of Things (IOT) that effect Customers
and Companies are:
46
Yes ,We have
not covered all the
IMPACTS
of the Internet.
We will now discuss
the known changes
whose impacts have
not yet been
verified nor
validated as a
research finding
47
Change is constant
Warning:
Reliable Academic or Peer reviewed Research on Impact of Technology is very limited (only 5 books in last 20 years and less than 50 articles have been written. )
The last book was published in 2014 by mark Graham and William Dutton on networks increasing the impact on society .
Most current articles on impact now appear in the news magazines, the press, radio and television without any research.
This situation is due to:
Lack of time for research to be done
The lack of research is due to the short growing life of internet less than 2 generations or 40 years
The fast changing life cycle of technology devices 3 to 5 years
The normal life cycle of human beings usual 3 to 5 generations or 100 years.
The vast potential global populations with diverse cultures that must be investigated
The numerous impacts or effects that technology maybe having on our society, its culture, its economy and the physical world, Itself
The diverse access and exposure that different human beings and their cultures are receiving from the use of cellphones, the internet, and search engines upon the associated businesses, economic sectors and their corporations.
The need to determine what the impacts really are as of any specific moment and time
The changing economic ages involved in different continents, different markets and different national states at different time periods such as:
The agricultural age 1890’s
The industrial age 1900- 1920/ World War I
Distribution initial phase 1930-1945/ world War II
Global distribution phase 1945 to 1980
Information age 1945 to present
The web 2 /IOT Internet of things Globalization of economy
Internet started in 1975
Web started in 1994
Web2 started in 2002
is producing different reported results in different places and cultures
48
a) Mail replaced by e-mail and texting
b) Wired Telephone replaced by mobile/cell phones, & video chats
c) Boxed Stores who are being replaced by home delivery from post office,
united parcel and fed express by web stores
such as Amazon and E-bay
d) Physical schools being replaced by remote access schools,
“computer based training (CBT)/simulation or Computer game training (CGT)”
e) travel agents are being replaced by reservation sites i.e. planes, hotels
and rentals
Section 4 Changes that have not yet been researched that are currently impacting our society?

Things that the Internet has already reduced or eliminated as society adapted Enforceable copyrights
businesses ◦ Such as
Newspapers
Weekly magazines
Fanzines
Telephone directories
Encyclopedia’s
Music stores
Book stores
◦ By free web content
Geographic atlas
And Local media sources
reference Almanacs
(by google maps)
Western Union Telegram and Letter writing by E-mail
Photographers, photo stores and Photo albums ◦ by jpeg online photo
Galleries
Broadcast media such as “ ◦ Mainstream and cable News
and Media
◦ Movie sales and rentals
◦ Music Record sales
by Introduction of low cost web site streaming media such as amazon prime, Netflix's
50
Things that the internet has created
or already changed and known
consequences: Increased use of Electronic Communication
◦ Text messaging
Mailing Photos
Social networking
◦ Google+
Changing social communication
◦ Abbreviated language or textese
◦ Increased use of
Pictograms /symbols
Emoticons and smiley faces
Shorten Initials
Shorten abbreviations
Expanded Acronyms
51
Changing the User’s Language to fit the new Technology
“Twitter” is also a known program that has Impact but how
the language change and its scope among our population
has still not yet been defined Historic time line of change
◦ Email started commercially with POP3 in late 1980’s but it was experimental from the 1960’2 as ascii ( approximately 50 years available)
◦ “Sms text” short message service” began 1984 for A 180 character message when ftp added a revised protocol (approximately 30 years available) texting started commercially around 2006 due to telephone companies reducing billing for text messaging Currently (after ten years )there is at least twice as many text messages as voice calls on every telephone service in world. In 2015, in USA, there were 500 million text messages The major program twiier started in 2006 (10 years)
◦ Warning: Texting is prohibited in Iran, China and North Korea as treasonous organizing tool. It was used in the Arab spring revolutions in Egypt, morocco, Libya,
Impacts of texting (due to message length limitation 180/ reduced to 160 characters) has
Fostered short concise message (i.e. Short and sweet) The changes that it has fostered
Are: 1. Initializations (acronyms and abbreviations), such as tmi to much information and pictograms (symbols and
emoticons (i.e. smiley faces)
2. Lack of punctuation
3. Lack of capitalization
4. Shortening words in language wherever possible such as :u= you
5. Limited face to face communication
1. Current research:
Yes, every language is constantly changing, teenagers are usually the source of change.
The research question is “Is abbreviated language normal or due to technology
Nobody knows Yet!
52
Positive and Negative Social Impacts
on people and organizations:
53
Are their addictions expressed by individuals using
technology significant? Maybe? The Chinese study below
shows less than 10% of population may be involved which
is the same as due to random chance, Is this a real fact or
an anomaly? No peer review or verified studies have yet
been completed
54
1. CHANGE ONLY OCCURS ON INTERNET
IF IT IS PROFITABLE
2. LESS THAN ONE PERCENT OF ACTUAL USERS ARE
BLOGGERS WHO PRODUCE THE DATA CONTENT
3. USERS “HOWEVER” HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATED AND
THEY HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE: 66% OR 2/3 MALE
50% ARE UNDER 35 YEARS OF AGE AND
70% HAVE A COLLEGE DEGREE
Section 4
Whose supporting these {impacts} changes on the internet (Web2) ?
55
Who’s actually providing all this Data?
(less than 1% of Users)
56
How does Business see Web Usage
necessary to attract customers
57
Who are the Users according to Research? Popular opinion indicates its
teenagers, and young professionals
But research shows: it’s the better educated!
58
Who actually gets heard on WEB?
59
Everyone gets heard but no one pays attention. Currently, change only occurs on
internet if it is a profitable opportunity
Capitalism versus National Government is the current standoff. Regulators are
trying to regulate The Internet of Things ; But, each country is doing its own thing
so it is the wild wild west, the rules change at every border.
