IntroductionNikkalite® ECE 104 Conspicuity Tape doesn’t just fulfil your legal requirements, it can also save lives, reduce repair costs, protect your business from safety claims and improve your company’s image, in addition to reducing the risk of collision.

The tape is easy to handle and apply, offering excellentadhesion to approved prepared surfaces and no edgesealing is required - the Nikkalite® difference is clear.

ECE 104 RegulationUnder regulation ECE 104 it is mandatory for conspicuitymarkings to be applied to all newly registered goodsvehicles operating in the UK with a gross vehicle weightexceeding 7.5 tonnes and trailers with a gross vehicleweight exceeding 3.5 tonnes.

A complete full contour marking is required on the vehiclesrear to outline shape; horizontal and vertical. Full contour or partial markings on the sides of vehicles showing lengthand, as a minimum - upper corners.

Conspicuity marking can be complete or partial, must bewithin certain dimensions to edges and cover at least 80%of the total length and width of the vehicle.

The DfT states the UK preference is red to the rear andyellow to the sides.

The Nikkalite® SolutionNikkalite® ECE 104 Conspicuity Tape provides a fullycompliant solution for both rigid and curtain sided vehicles.The materials show the mandatory E-mark symbolindicating they meet the requirements of ECE 104.

Nikkalite® Conspicuity Tapes are supplied in 50m rolls as standard. They are easy to cut, handle and it takes justone person to easily and quickly apply them. The tapes are durable and impact resistant offering up to 8 yearsof outstanding performance. Maintenance is simple too, as they are also water and solvent resistant and can berepeatedly power washed following the recommendedcleaning instructions.

All companies have the option to brand the Rigid Gradetape with their organisations logo which will be repeated atregular intervals, 1 x 820mm, max 2 per metre along thefull length of the tape roll. The excellent clarity of our tapegives a high definition presentation of any logo makingthis an invaluable branding opportunity for any company.

The E MarkingThe E Marking, shown on all Nikkalite® Conspicuity Tapes is proof that the product has been tested, certified andmeets all the requirements of ECE 104.
