INTRODUCTIONThe human eyesight is an essential prerequisite to find out and understand spatial structures and processes. The visual form of the presentation of areal data offersan fundamental for analysis and interpretation of spatial and temporal correlations and changes in the past, the presence and future.Accordingly we use the three- and four- dimensional landscape visualization as an essential method for the (geo)scientific knowledge process in the education. It is possible to exchange quickly complex informations between science, practice and public. The following Softwaretools are used for the construction of geovisualizations and virtual landscapes in the working group „Remote Sensing and Cartography“:As tool for the creation of geovisualization the study group cartographic and remote sensing use the following visualizationsoftware ArcView 3D-Analyst, ArcGISMapAnimator3D, Erdas/Imagine – VirtualGIS und WorldConstructionSet.
