Calculators for
Student Use
Students in Algebra 2 and above are expectedto have a graphing calculator. Students in
Algebra 1 or Geometry are expected to have ascientific calculator.
Calculators are availableto rent from the Math Help Room. Students
first need to complete the rental form andhave it signed by a parent/guardian, then
stop by room 315 to pick up thecalculator. Scientific calculators are availableto rent free of charge. Graphing calculators
require a $20 deposit and a $10 per trimesterrental fee. Rental forms are available outside
the door of room 315.
Winter Break
Winter break is from December 22ndthrough January 2nd. We wish you all
a safe and warm Holiday Break!
Juniors: State
Testing Update
This school year, the Michigan Merit
Exam has changed. 11th
gradestudents will still be completingtheir ACT on March 3rd. The WorkKeys will be on March 4th. There will
be a delayed start (with times to bedetermined) for 9th, 10thand 12thgraders on those days.
The major change will be what wehave known as day 3/MEAP/ or
Michigan Merit. This test is nowbeing titled 11thGrade SummativeAssessments. 11thgrade studentswill take 4 different assessments:English & Reading, Math, Science,and Social Studies. The test dates
will be determined sometime in thefuture.

TI Technology Rewards
Program
The Math Department is collectingpoints found on the backs of new TIcalculator packages, which can be
redeemed for new calculators.

Mom 2 Mom Sale
Grand Ledge High School will be holding itsThird Annual Mom2Mom sale! This sale acts
as a Journalism Program fundraiser, with
proceeds going to the group.

Be prepared to stop if a school bus' lights areflashing yellow. If the lights are red, you must

Practice ACT Sylvan
Learning Company)
A practice ACT will be offered the morning ofNov. 22 in the GLHS cafeteria. In addition tothe practice ACT that will be scored for you

Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center
The Eaton RESA Career Preparation Center is now registering sophomores and juniors for aVisitation Day Field Tripduring the school day on Tuesday, December 16th, 2014.Studentswill meet the program teachers, current students, and administrative staff while finding out moreabout the exciting opportunities available for their junior and/or senior year! The will also havethe chance to enroll for the 2015-2016 school year. All transportation and coordination with the
high school is provided. The field trip and all program offers are free to Grand Ledge students.

Socktober Clothing Drive
The students in Ms. BronsonsEnglish 9A classes conducteda clothing drive for the lastthree weeks of October. Allclothing donated will bedistributed to Kens CoatCloset, The Grand Ledge FoodBank, and various othercharitable organizations thatprovide clothing to the needyin the Capitol Area. Itemsthat were brought in were
gently used or brand new(such as socks and underwear).Students filled three large trash
bags with winter coats, two copy paper boxes of brand new hats, gloves and scarfs,two copy paper boxes of brand new socks, and six trash bags of gently usedclothing. With another long, and possible treacherous, winter ahead of us, Ms.Bronsons students wanted to help clothe people and keep them warm in theupcoming months. The drive was a success!
