The government recently published advice for those responsible for the maintenance of buildings with render or brick-slip External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems. The guidance is of particular note for systems which are over 18m high or in an exposed location. The advice has been brought about by the government being informed that systems with a render or brick-slip finish may be susceptible to deterioration which could result in parts of systems falling from buildings*.
