Construction of local fuel-fired mini-CHP Plant at boiler house at 10 Surkov St., Kalinkovichi, Republic of Belarus

Contractor: Consortium consisting of JSV “Belzarubezhstroy” (Republic of Belarus) and JSC “ENERSTENA” (Republic of Lithuania).

Client:Communal Unitary Enterprise “Gomel Regional Department of Capital Construction”.

Financing:Loan No.8351-BY provided by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of the Biomass District Heating Project.

Period:June 02, 2016 – December 02, 2017.

Complexity class: First complexity class project.

The project provides for the construction of the following facilities:

• Construction of an attached mini-CHP running on local fuel (type of fuel – wood chip), installation of energy-efficient hot water boilers operating on natural gas or fuel oil.

• Construction of a storage shed for wood chip and a fire fighting pump house in Gulevichi village situated at a distance of 8.0km from the boiler house at 10 Surkov street.

• Design and construction of new sections of heat supply network.

• Construction of a transformer substation.

• Construction of 10kW line having the total length of 5.9 km.

• Construction and connection of external power supply networks (0.4kW), gas supply network, communications, water supply and sewerage networks for the designed buildings and facilities.

Wood chip for solid fuel boilers will be supplied from the base fuel depot located in Gulevichi village. A 300m3 mechanized active fuel storage will be provided at the boiler house.

Wood chip feed system is completely automated.

Ash removal from the boilers is also automated.

Thermal load:72.4 Gcal/h.

Main fuel: natural gas, wood chip.

Back-up fuel:residual fuel oil grade 100.

All the operation parameters of the boilers, turbine and auxiliary equipment are processed by the automatic control system and displayed on two operator stations. These stations also give indication of the status of individual consumer heating units which are supplied from this boiler house.
