APPRENTICESHIPS

An apprenticeship is still the best way to becoming a construction craft operative. It

enables you to learn, work, earn and get qualified all at the same time, by combining college

training with on site experience.

An apprenticeship framework is based around an NVQ (National Vocational Qualification). These

qualifications are developed and approved, and are designed to measure your practical skills and

job knowledge by assessing your work on-site.

As part of your apprenticeship you will also:

Gain a Technical Certificate;

Complete a Heath & Safety Test;

Achieve the appropriate level of Functional Skills assessment.

The apprenticeship programme is designed to help you prepare for a career on site, and to ensure

you get the right qualification to get into the construction industry, including qualifying for the ap-

propriate card scheme.

Your employer may also be able to claim a grant to support you through a 3 year

apprenticeship.

Trades available:

Bench Joinery; Maintenance;

Bricklaying; Painting & Decorating;

Carpentry & Joinery; Dry lining;

General Construction; Plastering.

Plumbing;

If you require further information regarding Apprenticeships then please contact CTS.
