ALL FILIPINO-AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS ENJOINED TO CELEBRATE THE FILIPINO AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH
The Consulate General of the Philippines strongly encourages all FilipinoshyAmerican communities in Chicago suburban Illinois and the Midwest as well as those in Oklahoma Arkansas Mississippi and Louisiana to conduct relevant activities to celebrate the Filipino American History Month (FAHM) this coming October
In pursuit of this worthy endeavor officers or representatives of Fil-Am organizations are invited to participate in a planning meeting which will be held on Monday 25 August 2016 from 530 pm - 730 pm at the Kalayaan Hall of the Consulate General 122 S Michigan Avenue Suite 1600 Chicago IL 60603 The meeting is in response to the request of Mr Ruben Salazar Cultural Coordinator of the Philippine American Cultural Foundation (PACF) to meet with other Fil-Am organizations in order to plan the activities for the month-long celebration of FAHM
Commemoration of the F AHM is made possible by virtue of S Resolution 298 passed by the US Senate on 01 October 2009 and H Resolution 780 passed by the US House of Representatives on 02 November 2009 which both recognize October as Filipino American History Month
