Order Of Worship For those of you who have called in to listen to the service over the phone: thank you for your patience! We have been working out some difficulties with that new technology, but it has worked the last two weeks and should be working this week, so keep trying! A couple of hints for connecting over the phone:
If you don't hear anything right away, stay on the line for a few minutes. Sometimes the service won't start right at 10:15, so I don't want you to miss anything!
If there are beeping noises but no one talking, stay on the line. There are noises when others call in and when the service is about to start, but the service should start within a couple of minutes after that.

Marissa and the quilting team have graciously accepted to sew
masks for members in the congregation who would like one.
These are washable cotton with a pocket for a removal filter which
households can find on hand. Please be specific and let us know if
you a male/female or child size mask.
If you are interested please give Deb Newell at 402 905 4730 or
leave a voice message and Marilyn will take the information and
send it over to Marisa Carlson or Deb Newell the following day.

Song
O Come To The Altar
Verse 1
Are you hurting and broken within Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin
Jesus is calling Have you come to the end of yourself Do you thirst for a drink from the well
Jesus is calling
Chorus
O come to the altar The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with The precious blood of Jesus Christ
Verse 2
Leave behind your regrets and mistakes Come today there's no reason to wait
Jesus is calling Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born Jesus is calling
Bridge
Oh what a Savior Isn't he wonderful
Sing alleluia Christ is risen Bow down before him
For he is Lord of all Sing alleluia Christ is risen
Verse 3
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown Tell the world of the treasure you've found
Prayer
This is not how we like to gather for Easter morning. If you're anything like me, you like to pop out of bed Easter morning, put on our Easter best, go to a sunrise service out in God's creation, eat an egg casse-role with your church family for Easter breakfast, and then crowd into a beautifully decorated sanctuary to sing the great songs of our faith and celebrate together the fundamental core of our faith, that Jesus is Ris-en!
But the truth is, the first Easter morning was not very much like that. The disciples didn't rise with expectation of celebration, they woke still reeling from the reality of loss and uncertainty – they didn't put on their finest and gather together in a building designed for worship, they cow-ered in their homes, alone or in very small groups.
This year, we find ourselves in the unique position of being forced to emulate that first Easter morning. Rather than meeting together in our building, we are meeting separately in our homes. Rather than hearing other voices around us belting out our favorite Resurrection hymns, we are struggling to sing them alone over a phone or in front of a screen. Rather than our Sunday school teacher's egg casserole, we're eating whatever we have left over since our trips to the grocery store have become less frequent.
This week at Benson Baptist, we're even taking the step of recording our worship service from our homes, partly to do our part to stop the spread of the pandemic, and partly because the morning Jesus rose from the dead, that's where Jesus found many of his disciples: in their homes, weary, waiting, barely daring to hope that God might be able to bring new life out of their loss. So this Easter Sunday, may God find us worshiping wherever we are, waiting and hoping for the new life God has made possible in Christ.
He is Risen.

Cont. Sermon & Scripture
Benediction
May the Love of God and the Peace of Christ and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you now and always.
Go in peace!
John 20:1-2
Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Mag-
dalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed
from the tomb. So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other
disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have
taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they
have laid him.”
