Release Notes

ILL Homepage

Re-instate the ability to search closed requests On Tuesday, October 14 closed request searching was once again available in WorldShare ILL. Users

can now search for closed requests by title, author, symbol, etc. as well as by request ID number.

Please note that search results are limited to the most recent 500 requests (borrowing and lending) for

any given search.

Updates to ILL Message Board The ILL Message Board on the ILL Homepage is now translatable into languages supported by the

WorldShare Platform.

Discover Items

Lenders in lender string are no longer selectable on holdings list When a lender is entered in the lender string, the hyperlink in the Supplier column is no longer

clickable. Likewise, if a lender is removed from the lender string the ability to click on Yes in the

Supplier column is restored. Additionally, this selection status is retained if users navigate between All

Holdings, State Holdings and Regional Holdings. This enhancement makes it easier for users to see

which lenders are already in the lender string.

Workflow improvements

Improved mapping of bibliographic fields for article and book chapter requests initiated in WorldCat Discovery Staff View When staffs submit requests into WorldShare ILL for article and book chapters from non-WorldCat

records in WorldCat Discovery, the bibliographic data in the record mapping has been improved to

correctly map the following fields:

The complete details appear in the Verification field, including the database of origin and full date

information. We continue to work to improve the logic to place the data in the correct fields.

Users can create new requests from additional statuses Now users are able to create a new request from an existing request. This functionality is now

supported at the following statuses:

Conditional

Considering

Conditions Accepted

Submitted

Complete?

Closed: any disposition

Unfilled (not new with this release)

Expired (not new with this release)

Confirmation messages display till users navigate to different screen Confirmation messages that are displayed after taking an action on a request now stay on the screen

until a user navigates to a different page.

Borrower’s Batch Processing for In-Transit queue displays Due Date The batch processing list of requests for a borrower’s in-transit requests now display the Due Date.

Deflection improved to include future dates The deflection logic used to designate deflection by publication date has been modified to include future

years. This means that a deflection policy set to deflect requests with a publication date less than 1

year old will also deflect requests with a future publication date (e.g. 2015 records that are already in

WorldCat).

Emails from WorldShare ILL contain additional request information Several fields of request details were missing from the borrower and lender emails. They have now

been added to the email template. Below are the fields that are now included:

Purchasing queues added to Print All pages Requests in a library’s Purchasing Requests queues can now be printed using the Print All feature.

WorldCat Discovery is on a different schedule than WorldShare ILL, so changes will become apparent

with WorldCat Discovery releases.

Bug fixes

Issue with slowness of system and “non-responsive script” error message has been fixed.

One- and two-per-page printouts now have the correct service type. Previously the service type

for copies printed as a loan.

When requests were created with a format of DVD they were being mapped to the broader:

Visual Material after the request was sent. They are now properly mapped to DVD video. This

fix was also made for other subsets of materials that were mapping to the broader categories.

E.g. Sound recording on CD was mapping to the more generic Sound Recording.

Misalignment of labels on the 24-per page labels for A4 printing has been fixed.

When users select a Custom Holdings Path or Profiled Group and view holdings and then

change their Custom Holdings Path or Profiled Group users now see the name of the newly

selected path or group displayed after hitting 'Go'.

A fix was made to Reasons for No in the History tab of a request. The Reason for No, no longer

displays as RFN-Closed. It displays the appropriate Reason for No.

Closed requests no longer have a button to de-ISO the request.

Known Issues

This release introduced a problem where if you search for a request and try to use the magnifying

glasses to search by title, author, ISBN, ISSN or request ID the search does not launch. They way to

work around this problem is to navigate to your requests using the request queues on the left side of

the screen. We are working to get this problem fixed as soon as possible.
