Blue, aaB_C_ddE_

Blue holland kits are dark blue over their entire bodies. Shown left to right: Orange, Siamese Sable, Broken Opal, Blue, and Black Tort kits at 9 days old. The Siamese Sable and Blue look identical at first, but then the SS gets a shimmery cast to its coat. The Broken Opal looks much like a Broken Blue at a few days old, but then the inside of the ears get a brownish cast to them.

REW, ?? ?? cc ?? ??

Two day old REW's. Kits are pink at birth. These are English Angora kits, but Hollands look the same at birth color wise.

As they get older, their white wool comes in and their eyes open to reveal their ruby-red-pink eyes. These are EA kits, but coloring applies to the Hollands also.

Siamese Sable, aaB_c(chl)_D_E_

These can be tricky! Shown left to right: Orange, Siamese Sable, Broken Opal, Blue, and Black Tort kits at 9 days old. The Siamese Sable and Blue look identical at first, but then the SS gets a shimmery cast to its coat (note the shimmery cast on the kit in this pix). Then it develops white ticking almost on the ends of its hair. It goes through several color changes before looking like a Siamese Sable.

Few Days Old Few Weeks Old Adult Color

The top side of the Agouti body is banded and ticked. Banding means there is a ring pattern of different colors on each hair shaft. Ticked means that the color of the tip of each hair is different than the overall body color. Their ears are laced with the same color as the ticking. The eye circles, inside of the ears, and the nape of the neck is either white or tan. The underside of the tail, belly, nostrils and underside of the jowls are tan or white.

Even though this is the 'wide band group' that does NOT mean all of these rabbits carry the wide band gene (ww)!

The basic genotype for Fawn, Orange and Red Hollands are all the same. Rufus Modifiers are what differentiate them from each other. The Fawns have fewer rufus modifiers then the Orange, and the Orange have fewer then the Red. The '+' indicates rufus modifiers. Red's DO have the wide band gene (ww).

Harlequin's are NOT showable. Tri-Colors are shown as Brokens, but I put them here since they are sort of unique. Their solid harli counterpart is shown to help better identify the color.
