Health Information Centre

The Health Information Centre was set up 10 years ago and is an innovative partnership between Tameside Hospital and Tameside MBC Library Services. We provide a free health and social care information service, which includes:

Leaflets on key health conditions

Details of national and local support groups

Internet based health information from recommended websites

Information on services and support provided by Tameside Council Information in a range of

community languages There are times in all our lives when we need reliable information to enable us to manage a health condition such as diabetes, arthritis, or heart problem; deal with stress, anxiety, depression; recover from an illness or accident, or help us stay healthy and get fit. Anyone with a health query can visit the Centre and browse the extensive range of leaflets available. Staff are on hand to help you find the information you need, and computer access is also available for those who prefer to look at recommended health websites themselves. If you’re not able to visit us, then please give us a ring and we will post information to you. You will find us in the Main Entrance, Hartshead North. We are open Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm.
