Billboard Logo of magazine is shown inside the contents page, as a reminder. It remains the same, allowing the magazines consistency to flow throughout. Specific pictures of different music artists are added to get the reader engage on to those articles the most. Most exciting articles which the magazine aims us to look for. The pictures also have the page numbers on the bottom left. Mast head is in a very large font. On the left there is a list of the No.1 albums on the charts. This is called the charts list, and it gives the audience an update of what is current. The singles and artists are categorised by the use of colours to help distinguish the chart number the artist/song is at. This makes the list easier to read and understand, because there is so much information on one area. The background is white and grey. The two colours helps to separate the two features. The white helps to make the pictures stand out and give an edgy look. This page used blue, white and grey as their colour scheme, but with a hint of red and green to help stand out other details and information. The main image is a group band. There picture is larger than any of the other pictures, showing that they are significant to this issue of Billboard. ClashThis a double page spread of Clash magazine. It follows quite a conventional grid, as each page is clearly divided into two sections: text columns and images which supports it. This makes the context page, filled with lots text and images. It looks neat, well-structured and readable

There are three text columns, representing different features of the issue, such as particular issues and fashion.

Supporting images are laid conventionally, onto side of each text column. They all have a square shape, which adds to the accuracy and simplicity of the stylish contents page.

The main image, representing the cover story is bigger than other images, it’s not too obvious due to other articles being as significant, therefore it would interest the audience.

The contents page has a obvious promotion section, which represents free music download. This is effective because it makes the audience want to buy the issue.

The main contents image is James Blake. It’s the brightest and most vibrant coloured image of the page, which is supposed to draw people’s attention to itself straightaway.

All of the photos are in the similar colour pallet, because they are all coloured and have at least one really bright colour. This creates energy and funkiness to the page, which contrasts with the white background. It emphasises that the issues are focused on pop artists.

All the pictures are marked with the page number in a coloured circle. The colour matches with the gender of the artist. The main image has a red circle, causing it to catch the people’s attention.

The font used is clear, tall and simple, this makes it look classy and coloured using a simple colour. This is done to make a sophisticated and stylish look to match the style of the front cover.

Font are coloured in order of importance: column subheadings are brightly coloured, text features heading are bold black and grey is used for contents comments. The promotion text is white, to contrast with the dark background.

The overall colour palette is black and white, which looks simple and clear. Other bright blue and pink colours add energy and a pop of colour to the pages suggest that the issue is based on pop music.
