Contents Page – Main Image (bottom right corner of featured artist)
The image I have chosen to be my main image on my contents page is of the featured artist on the front cover. It will be on the bottom right-hand corner of the page next to a pull quote from the article. The name of the artist is above the image in the same font as the her name is in on the front cover. This keeps with the house style by being unchanged throughout my magazine. The image will be photoshopped so that the background is a plain block colour with no shadows etc. which will help the figure to blend in with the page, rather than being a separate image. In this shot she is smiling and leaning forward with one hand on her hip. She looks confident and happy which are positive ways that I want to show this artist in my magazine.
Contents page – secondary Images This image will be of the Young Guns performing. Shot 1 is the Image I have chosen because it is the most in focus.
You can clearly see that it is Young Guns because their band name is on the backdrop behind them. I also like the blue lighting because it creates the atmosphere of
the band being live. It was taken from the audience which helps the fans to relate. I took other images from
their set but have not used them because of various reasons. Shot 2 has a very bright backlight so you cannot
see the singer. And Shot 3 is too blurred.
This Image is just the front cover within a subscription advert
This image relates to ‘behind the scenes’ of Marina and the Diamonds. It is an extreme close up of a girl’s face
with a heart on her cheek. The heart is iconic to Marina’s ‘Electra Heart’ look and fans would recognise it as that.
The shot I have chosen fits with the artist, is clear and colourful which will make the contents page interesting.
The background of the image is a plain block colour which keeps the attention on the face. Marina’s Electra
heart album is shown on the left which is where I got my inspiration for the image.

This image is of an artist blocking his face from the paparazzi, he has his hands up and is facing away. This shows that he does not want people to know if, as the
supporting caption suggests, ‘quit’. It is to hook my reader to want to find out more, if he is blocking the paparazzi then he must have a secret, the reader will
want to find out what it is.
