Have you just taken on your first role as a middle leader and feel thrown in at the deep end? Do you want to step back from your busy life as a school leader and ask how you can do things differently?
This programme is designed to ensure you have the impact needed in your role to inspire others and get the results you deserve. It is ideal for anyone who has recently started as a middle leader or those who feel it is worth stepping back and looking at how to develop further after some experience in their current role. The emphasis of the course will be on the practical application of theory to the team you lead. We will look at ways to raise achievement both using academic and pastoral leaders and also give you time to look at how to develop your team around you to ensure you have the greatest impact on key areas of school development. There will be an expectation that you will take on a leadership project regarding teaching and learning within your school.

This is a free course aimed at teachers who want to improve their understanding of maths. For some this is to support their own teaching of maths if they are not from a maths background. For others a way to develop their skill set. The TSST Maths group is made up of a diverse range of prior maths learning. The course uses a blended learning model of part day, on-line and school-based study that aims to root each session in the pedagogy of effective maths learning.

A key challenge as leaders of learning within Science faculties is to share best practice both within and between schools.
With the recent, numerous National Curriculum changes at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 it is important to keep up-to-date with such changes and share innovative teaching and learning ideas to help maximise pupil outcomes.
Time out of lessons impacts on learning and is becoming increasingly more difficult. Working in isoloation creates challenges with both workload and the sharing of ideas to meet the demands and rigour of the new specifications. Join this working group of local science leaders, who set their own agenda for issues that are important to them and benefit from working in collaboration.
