DESCRIpTIONThe NGC-40-HTC (for single-phase heaters) and NGC-40-HTC3 (for three-phase heaters) modules are used to control either a solid-state relay or contactor within the NGC-40 control and monitoring system. This module also has one alarm output and one digital input. The alarm output can be used to control an external annunciator. The digital input is programmable and may be used for various functions such as forcing outputs on and off. Other features of this module include ground-fault and line current sensing for both HTC and HTC3. The front panel of the HTC module has LED indicators for various status conditions. The front panel also provides a ground-fault and heater test button.

1. provide suitable panel enclosure
The NGC-40-HTC or NGC-40-HTC3 must be mounted in an enclosure to protect its electronic components. For indoor applications,useaminimumNEMA1enclosure(NEMA12recommended).Foroutdoorapplications,useaNEMA4orNEMA4Xenclosuredependingontherequirements.
Note: TheRaychemNGC-40-HTCorNGC-40-HTC3isde-signed for operation in ambient temperatures from –40°C to65°C(–40°Fto149°F).Iftheambienttemperatureisoutsidethisrange,aspaceheaterand/orcoolingfanwillbe required in the panel.
2. Determine locations for the NGC-40-HTC or NGC-40-HTC3 assembly in the electrical panel.
The NGC-40-HTC or NGC-40-HTC3 should be located in the rear of the panel. The NGC-40-HTC or NGC-40-HTC3 assembly is an electronic unit and must not be located where it will be exposed to strong magnetic fields or ex-cessive vibration.
