Dual Handle Electronic Remote ControlLocating and Drilling Mounting Area for DTS Single or Dual Handle ERC

1. Locate the area of the boat where the remote control is to be mounted. Allow sufficient clearance for remote control handlemovement and harnessing behind dash.IMPORTANT: A minimum of 6.35 cm (2.5 in.) of clearance between the remote control levers and the steering wheel isrequired in all positions (forward‑neutral‑reverse, and wide open throttle).

2. Mask the area to be cut with tape to reduce chipping and cracking.3. Place the template over the mounting area; cut and drill as instructed on the template.IMPORTANT: After cutting the mounting area, make sure that the opening is free of sharp edges.

Installing the Dual Handle Electronic Remote Control1. Ensure that the opening is free of sharp edges.2. Route the wiring for the ERC through the opening.3. The ERC and remote control harness connectors are color coded: yellow for port and blue for starboard. Match the colors

on the harness to the colors on the ERC. Connect the helm harness remote control connectors to the ERC.4. Insert the anchor clips of the two remote control harnesses into the ERC bracket holes to prevent disconnection.

IMPORTANT: Allow slack in the trim harness to flex and move during control handle movement.5. Secure the harnesses with a cable tie.

a - Anchor clips of ERC harnessb - Cable tie

6. When system link gauges are used on the vessel, cut the cable ties securing the system link connectors to the harness.7. Connect the CAN pad harness connector to the standard junction box.8. Place the remote control over the opening.

10. Remove the four caps covering the detent and friction screws.11. Set the control handle friction adjustment screw to increase or decrease the overall effort needed to move the control

handle through its range of motion. Proper adjustment will help prevent unwanted handle motion in rough water. Turn thescrew clockwise to increase friction, or counterclockwise to decrease friction.

12. Set the handle detent tension adjustment screw to increase or decrease the overall effort needed to move the controlhandle out of its detent positions. Proper adjustment will help prevent the handles from moving out of their detents untildesired. Turn the screw clockwise for more resistance, or counterclockwise for less resistance.

13. Install the four caps.14. Install the accent covers onto the ERC. Push the top‑center of the cover down and then push the sides down. The accent

covers will snap into place.

52311

15. Move each control handle through its range of motion to ensure unobstructed travel and smooth operation.IMPORTANT: The dual handle ERC must be configured with the CDS G3 tool before it can be used.NOTE: The dual handle ERC requires the installation of the helm‑mounted CAN pad for troll control. Refer to the instructionsheet included with the helm‑mounted DTS CAN pad.

The electronic remote control provides engine throttle and shift input to the control system, and houses the DTS trackpad.NOTE: Refer to the supplied kit instructions for templates and other mounting instructions.1. Locate the area of the boat where the remote control is to be mounted. Allow sufficient clearance for handle movement and

clearance for the wiring.IMPORTANT: A minimum of 6.35 cm (2.5 in.) of clearance between the remote control levers and the steering wheel isrequired in all positions (forward‑neutral‑reverse, and wide open throttle).

Remote Control Installation with Panel Thickness Greater Than 1.9 cm (0.75 in.)IMPORTANT: A panel thickness greater than 1.9 cm (0.75 in.) must have the remote control installed from behind the panel. This is a necessary procedure because of limited clearance between the control module and the material removed as shownwith the SportFish remote control template. The remote control mounting plate must be removed to insert the module assemblythrough the panel opening. Do not enlarge the panel cutout to accommodate the remote control installation from the front.1. Remove the four M6 x 14 screws securing the SportFish mounting plate onto the mounting spacer. Remove the mounting

plate.

2. Connect the lever harness to the control module.3. Insert the bayonet end into the bracket hole. This will prevent the connector from pulling out.

a. Control handle tension adjustment – The control handle tension adjustment screw requires periodicmaintenance. This screw can be adjusted to increase or decrease the overall effort to move the control handle. Thiswill help prevent the handle from unwanted motion in rough water. Turn screw towards "+" to increase tension ortowards "–" to decrease tension.

Troll Allows clutch slip (prop speed control) for low speed operation

+ Idle set speed increment (increase)

– Idle set speed decrement (decrease)

Transfer Transfers control between stations

Dock Limits maximum RPM for more precise control

Throttle only Warm‑up mode

1 Lever Allows both engines to be controlled with one lever.

Sync Defaults on, turns sync off

There are two different ways to mount the digital throttle and shift (DTS) trackpad assembly to the helm:• with the nut supplied with the kit• with four screws (not supplied with the kit)NOTE: For helms with a thickness less than 5 mm (0.197 in.) you must mount the trackpad with four screws.Ensure that there is adequate mounting area for the DTS trackpad.

Installation with Supplied NutNOTE: You can secure the SportFish DTS trackpad assembly to the helm in two ways: with the nut supplied with the kit or withfour screws (not supplied). For helms with a thickness less than 5 mm (0.197 in.), secure the trackpad with four screws. Reviewthe installation instructions to determine which mounting is best suited for your application.1. Use the dimensions provided to identify a suitable location for the SportFish DTS trackpad. Ensure the area behind the

selected location is clear of obstructions and wires.2. Using the dimension provided, mark and drill the 54 mm (2.125 in.) center mounting hole.3. Install the gasket onto the trackpad assembly.4. Insert the assembly into the helm cutout.5. Ensure the trackpad is correctly oriented. Thread the supplied nut onto the assembly and tighten the nut securely.6.
