The standalone monitoring alarm systemwhich can monitor and alarm practicallyanything; including temperature down toliquid nitrogen levels, humidity, CO2, O2,door status as well as much more.
The system comes with a base centrewhich can connect to up to 120 wirelesssensors and up to 120 wired sensors. You can also have multiple base centres ifrequired.
On the base centre you can view real timeand historical data in graphical or textformat, view & acknowledge alarms aswell as the ability to configure the unitproviding you have logged in and havesufficient privileges to do so.
The base centre can store informationitself and can have an optional SD cardwhich stores data for up to 5 years.
Optionally connect the base centre to aLAN port in the building, or directly to aPC which will allow remote access to theunit with a web browser locally or fromanywhere in the world!
Using a web browser you can connect tothe base centre to have an overview ofhow the system is operating with links toall other functions.
It is also possible to connect a USBdevice to export historical data. Variousfile formats can be selected includingHTML so that the data can be readusing a web browser or in CSV formatto import into a spreadsheet.
Each monitored device has a set ofalarm thresholds. If the threshold isexceeded and alarm can be generatedvia the various options
Every alarm is logged internally withthe time and date and the value thatthe sensor reached. Alarm history canbe viewed at any time via the basecentre or web browser. To complete theaudit trail, the unit can be configuredso that alarms have to beacknowledged by entering a passcode. The details of the user whoacknowledge the alarm is also storedwith the alarm event. Any action madeby a user which requires a password isalso logged.
In the event that the signal from thetransmitter is not strong enough toreach the base centre, repeatersmodules can be used to repeat or"boost" the signal.
With multiple repeaters the units createa mesh type network, which in theevent that a signal path becomesunavailable will automatically re-routevia another available path.
In the event of a problem with thebase centre, the system can simply berestored to another base centre withoutthe need to re-configure the devices.
The systems can come pre configuredso even the user can plug it straight inand get going! Without the need forexpensive installations!
There are various levels of access fromview only to complete editing andalarm management.
There are various alarm optionsincluding visual & audible alarms, auto-dialers, email alarms and connection toBMS systems. You can also connect aprinter to the unit. You can also putdelay period for each monitored deviceto prevent "false alarms". Battery lifecan last up to 5 years for sensors.

The DATAcentre and MIDIcentre comewith an LCD screen, visual and audiblealarm and can connect to an auto-dialer. Remote access is also availablein these systems.
Each sensor comes with a transmitterwhich wirelessly connects to the mainbase unit (DATAcentre or MIDIcentre). The DATAcentre can take up to 120sensors (wired or wireless) and theMIDIcentre can take up to 20 sensors(wireless only).
Both the DATAcentre and MIDIcentrehave a large transmission range withoptional repeater modules available, soeven when your wheel your dewar awayyou can be confident it will remain withinwireless range of the receiver.
The system can be optionally set toalarm if there is wireless signalcommunication failure. Delays can alsobe added to avoid false or unnecessaryalarms.
Installation is very simple and is usuallydone in-situ while the dewar is in usewithout affecting the integrity of thesamples. It takes around 30 minutes tofit a sensor. The wireless transmitterhas a magnet and is stuck onto the sideof the dewar away from the handles toavoid any interference.
 No drilling of the cork
 Sensor remains in dewar
 5 year battery
 Fits all makes & models
 PT100 sensor for accuracy
 Dewar capacity unchanged
 With samples inside
Ensuring that your samples are kept at theright temperature within your dewars hasalways been important; and theintroduction of new legislation, eg theHuman Tissue Act and the EU TissueDirective make it doubly so.
Planer offer a very reliable, simple to usesolution designed especially for LiquidNitrogen dewars.
It is available as a wireless temperaturesensor which is installed within the dewarto sit in between any two of the canisters.
The sensor is attached to a stainless steelband which is formed like the shape of thecanister and is mounted in between two ofthe canisters; this avoids having to use acanister to mount the sensor or drilling thecork.
The sensor is available in a wide range ofsizes; it is a Pt100 platinum sensor, accurate to 0.3°C. Pt100’s are moreaccurate than other types and do not ‘drift’(require calibration) so they stay “accuratefor longer”.
The minimum that is needed is one sensorand one transmitter per dewar plus aDATAcentre or a MIDIcentre to connect to.
It is possible to check the battery levelof the transmitter at the base station onthe DATAcentre or through a networkconnection on the MIDIcentre.
Although batteries last up to 5 years, itis recommended that all batteries arechecked regularly and changed every3-4 years. This are inexpensive and canbe easily changed on site.

FCT
Focus control technology (FCT) isPlaner’s answer to avoidable failures.FCT uses a single dedicated controlboard (PID engine), which runs thefreezer not subject to interference fromother processes.
All other processes such as localkeypresses, displays and comms with aPC are handled by a separate controlboard.
The PID Engine handles all of thecurrent run operation, including thecurrent profile and current KryoFile. Theprofile is downloaded to the PID Enginewhich then runs the freezerindependently.
The profile contains the informationabout temperatures and hold times andthe KryoFile stores information on theresultant temperature variants. The PIDengine contains a micro processorwhich also handles the control andmeasurement of the current run.

Liquidus tracking aims for vitrificationwithout fast rates. Avoiding highconcentrations of cryoprotectant at thestart, the concentration of DMSO isincreased as temperature decreases.
The product is designed for researchinto use of liquidus tracking tocryopreserve samples not suitable forconventional slow-rate freezing orultrafast vitrification.
Vitrification normally requires ultra-fastcooling rates and usually needs smallsamples to achieve those rates.Liquidus tracking achieves vitrificationwithout the fast rates. Theconcentration of cryoprotectant isincreased as cooling proceeds; theconditions of the solution that the cellsor tissue experience are similar tothose that they would experienceduring conventional cryopreservationwith the formation of ice.
There are two methods: dualsolution mode - appropriate forsmall sample containers and singlesolution mode - for larger samplecontainers.
For samples such as e.g. OvarianTissue:
Dual mode: the two peristalticpumps feed two solutions to thesample; one pump feeding a highconcentration DMSO solution tothe sample container and thesecond pump feeding a 0%solution. Pump speeds areadjusted to control theconcentration of cryoprotectantsurrounding the sample whilemaintaining a constant flow rate.
Pumps and chamber are managedby a Controller which includes asimple 3 button user interface toallow runs to be initiated andmanaged directly from the frontpanel.
The controller maintains chambertemperature, cooling rates and endconcentration.
Runs are automatically saved to aremovable USB flash drive oncompletion and file saved as a pdffile.
Liquidus Tracking is an approachdeveloped to cryopreservetissues that are unsuitable forpreservation using conventionaltechniques including slow ratefreezing and ultra fastvitrification.
Unlike standard cryopreservationthe conditions here are adjustedsuch that ice cannot form

The Planer ShipsLog™ is a datalogger forvapour shippers which will keep an accu-rate and downloadable temperature historyof samples over the duration of the transit.
The ShipsLog™ is an on-line monitoringsystem of temperature history for samplesin liquid Nitrogen Vapour Shippers. Itprovides trace ability for the temperature ofthe samples and can give alarms at setpoints during the transit period.
The ShipsLog™ monitor is fitted in the topof the dry shipper's cover. The temperatureprobe (PT100) extrudes through the cork, monitoring the temperature at the warmestpart of the vapour shipper.
The temperature sensor is fitted to aplate which prevents physical damageto the sensor and also ensures that thetemperature recorded is higher than thetemperature in the vicinity of thesample.
The ShipsLog™ can also be suppliedwith a flying lead should it be required torecord the temperature within thesample area - this unit is not fitted with,or supplied with a cork and cover.
Samples may be transported in theknowledge that on arrival at destinationthe recipient can quickly check via theLED display whether the temperaturerange has deviated from the pre setprofile.
The full temperature history can bedownloaded if desired to confirm theexact temperature pattern throughoutthe journey. The logger is userprogrammable via PC software.
The logging process can be startedeither via the PC software or via amagnetic swipe key - which can beshipped separately from the vapourshipper. Analysis of the data can bemade by the sender, the receiver orboth.
