    Total Control at a distance

    The MQ SCADA is an event-driven, publish and subscribe protocol operating over TCP/IP. Applications for MQ SCADA are

    industry wide, it is particularly relevant to oil and gas, environmental monitoring, process control, utilities and transport.

    The Controlstar® supports the MQ SCADA protocol directly from the unit without the need for specialised gateways. The Fusion

    configuration tool allows a user to select the information and controls what each Controlstar® publishes via the MQ SCADA

    protocol.

    FUSION The easy-to-use tool for system buildingControlstar® does not require a team of experts and programmers to create a working

    system, Fusion is a totaly integrated intuative design tool which allows personnel with no

    previous experience of Scada or telemetry systems to create reliable comprehensive

    solutions.

    Using a small set of visual objects Fusion guides the user through creating the control

    programs, the mimics, alarms and trends, automatically producing for the designer the

    files which bind the system modules together. These configuration files are downloaded

    to the Controlstar® in a simple operation. Quickly a user can develop systems which are

    easy to understand by the operators, provide precise control and are straightforward to

    enhance to meet future needs. Fusion is a ground breaking design tool which provides

    the opportunity to significantly reduce engineering costs, and the user licence is free!

    Create Control diagrams - pick and place and

    link easy to understand function blocks; the

    connections become 'live' in the on-line

    systems to become a unique and powerful

    commissioning and diagnostic tool.

    Build the system - pick and

    place images of the required

    modules onto a DIN rail.

    Link to Control diagrams by

    select and click.Draft the mimics using powerful graphic elements,

    including trend and alarm modules; link with the input

    and output channels and the control diagrams using

    the mouse. The whole process is self documenting

    and creates a complete configuration which is

    downloaded to the Controlstar® locally using Ethernet

    or remotely over a network.

    'FUSION' - REDUCING ENGINEERING COSTS

    Micro-ScadaDesigned for a Palm™ Smart phone, Micro-Scada offers the ultimate in portability for the person who is

    in control; this is combined with a rich set of standard functions such as address book, personal

    scheduler, camera, and mobile phone. Using a Palm Treo PDA (Personel Data Assistant), which is a PDA combined with a GSM/GPRS Smart phone. The Micro-Scada runs as a standard application on

    this Smart phone and allows a user to retrieve the key conditions from a remote Controlstar®, this

    includes receiving and responding to alarms. Applications are developed as a series of small mimics,

    for example one mimic display per pump, this provides the basic status information and facilitates the

    remote control of a Controlstar®. A full site is a number of displays that is quickly navigated using hot

    spots on each mimic.

    THE FIELDBUS CONNECTION

    The standard Controlstar® interface is

    a modular CAN (Control Area

    Network) system. The DIN rail

    mounting modules provide a cost

    effective distributed solution. A CAN

    node is constructed from up to 8 DIN

    rail I/O modules, with each module

    having a capacity of up to 12

    channels. CAN allows individual nodes

    to be installed up to 500 metres from a

    Controlstar®. CAN is the most widely

    used international Fieldbus. A

    maximum of 14 CAN nodes may be

    linked to a single Controlstar®. Each

    module is approximately 100mm

    square by 22.5 mm wide, creating a

    high density yet flexible field

    connection.
