EurJOC is a journal of ChemPubSoc Europe, a union of 16 European chemical societies formed for the pur-pose of publishing high-quality science. All owners merged their national journals to form two leading chemistry journals, the European Journal of Organic Chemistry and the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry.
EurJOC is also a sister journal of the Asian Journal of Organic Chemistry, which is co-owned by the thirteen member societies of the Asian Chemical Editorial Society (ACES) and the Korean Society for Organic Synthesis (KSOS) and supported by ChemPubSoc Europe.
COVER PICTURE
The cover picture shows a fluorescent light photo-micrograph of cells in division, and reveals the cellnucleus stained in blue, f-actin stained in red andthe tubulin, which formed the mitotic spindle, ingreen. Peloruside A, which appears in the fore-ground, is a natural marine sponge macrolidecharacterized as a potent, novel antimitotic agentspecifically targeting tubulin and identified as apromising anticancer agent. In this paper we pre-sent a convergent strategy to construct restrictedsynthetic analogues of peloruside, followingthe sequential C11C12 (aldolization step)and C2C3 (RCM reaction) disconnectionsillustrated on the chemical structure. Detailsare discussed in the article by J. Lebreton,M. Mathe-Allainmat et al. on p. 2303ff. RemyLe Guevel and Myriam Ravache (ImPACcell-SFR BIOSIT) are gratefully acknowledged forproviding us with this picture of living cellsin mitosis.
