Start installation by laying out all contents of kit and 1. compare to parts list above. Disconnect transmission lines from radiator. Cap the 2. ends of metal transmission cooling lines to prevent line leakage. Be mindful of possible leakage from fittings of radiator during removal of radiator from vehicle. After the radiator has been removed, or if installing the 3. cooler kit with new radiator, you will start by mounting the “L-brackets” to the channel on the outside of radiator tanks. To prepare mounting L-brackets for placement onto radiator side tanks: Insert the T-bolts (2ea. per bracket) through slots on the short side of L-bracket from the inside and next to bend. Loosely place ¼” flat washers and then ¼”-20 locknuts on end of T-bolts. (see Detail A) Slide L-brackets with attached T-bolts down side tank 4. track closest to machined side of radiator tanks. Attach L-brackets to both sides of radiator so that the channel mounting tabs of the L-brackets are facing each other. Distance of bracket edge to top plate of side tank should be ~4-1/2”. (see Detail B) Note: Inside face of each L-bracket should be flush against machined side of radiator tank. Rev. 04-05-16 99182 Page 1 of 3 Cooler ........................................ 1ea.
