Rationale: At present there is a need to enhance access to innovative knowledge and competences for specialists in the agricultural sector, improving cooperation and reciprocal relations between agrarian HEIs, research institutions and companies to facilitate developing and delivering innovations to the business environment

• Objective: Innovative development of human resources in the agrarian sector, diversifying access to knowledge and skills through setting up Centres of Excellence as a tool for developing new policies, adopting and diffusing knowledge and new technologies in the agricultural sector

Proposals for new projects Rationale: At present university graduates are equipped mainly with

professional knowledge and skills. Innovative economy requires that they have also entrepreneurial and business skills.

Objective: Professionalization of BA and Master programmes in agrarian technology based on enhancing entrepreneurial and soft skills and reinforcing university-enterprise relationships.

Proposals for new projects

Rationale: Mobility of students and staff is increasingly important for internationalization of Kazakh universities and is a priority dimension of the national strategy of higher education development. While the number of international students is increasing it has become clear that some of the Kazakh HEIs are not well prepared to provide necessary support to them.

• Objective: Enhancing internationalization of Kazakh universities through developing capacities of international departments.

Proposals for new projects

• Rationale: There are many historical, cultural and natural sites in Kazakhstan. Many of them are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List or the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. These multiple sites need special attention (regular monitoring, conservation, restoration, protection and promotion). However at present there are no institutions/ programmes in the region focusing at training specialists in the management of cultural and natural sites.

• Objective – Fostering sustainable system of management of World and National Heritage in Kazakhstan through developing and implementing Master programme

Proposals for new projects

Rationale: Development and strengthening of integration processes is one of the priority aspects of the economic policy in the Eurasian Economic Union. There is a need to contribute to enhancing human and institutional capacity in addressing the challenges of sustainable development of economic integration in Central Asia and training of specialists in the area of integration and economic relations in the region.

• Objective – facilitate scientific and educational cooperation to foster international economic integration in the region through developing and implementing BA and Master programmes on "International Economics" in the Central Asian universities.
