STEAM ENGINE INSTRUCTIONALMODEL WITH CENTRIFUGALGOVERNOR

Governor is an instrument that keeps machines running atdesired speeds. Governor control the flow of fluid, such as steam,to a machine to make it run at a desired speed.

On a steam engine a governor regulates the machine’s speed byoperating of throttle valve. Steam engine is any engine that isoperated by the energy of expanding steam. The steam may beused to push pistons that turn the wheels of powerfullocomotives. Or it may be used to spin huge turbines that driveelectric generators and giant ocean liners. Large pumps, piledrivers, and other kinds of powerful machines may also be drivenby steam engines.

The unit is accurately sectioned and sections clearly shows:steam inlet ports, throttle valve, governor linkages, connectingrod, flywheel, piston, steam distributor and crank.

STEAM GENERATOR MODEL WITH VERTICAL WATER TUBES AND TWO CYLINDRICALBODIES

The model is realized detailing the most significative parts to show the components and the construction details of a modern water tubes steamboiler. Particularly the convection zone, the radiation zone and the stack are clearly visible.

SMALL MODEL OF AN AXIAL TYPE TURBOJET ENGINE

Gas turbine engines power most modern passenger and military aircraft: they are also called jet engines. The simplest type of gas turbine is theturbojet large quantities of surrounding air are introduced into the engine intake.

Then air enters in the compressor and receives an increase of its pressure. At the exit of the compressor, the very high pressure air is introducedinto the burner where it is mixed with fuel and ignited. Leaving the burner, the hot exhaust gas crosses the turbine that operates like a wind mill.At the end flow crosses the nozzle, which is shaped to accelerate the flow itself and the thrust is generated by the difference in speed betweennozzle outlet speed and free stream flow velocity (that is at lower pressure than flow exiting turbine).

The model is accurately sectioned and sections clearly shows: air intake, low and high pressure compressor, burner, low and high pressureturbine, propelling nozzle and starting igniter.

Shell-and-tube heat exchanger are the majority of the unfired heat transfer equipment in various chemical, thermodynamic and refineryprocesses. Their knowledge is fundamental in training and education. Scaled models, highly detailed, are valuable tools in teaching theoperation and maintenance of these equipment.

The designation of convectional shell-and-tube heat exchangers by number and letters has been established by the Tubular ExchangerManufactures Association (TEMA) and our models are reflecting their design standards together with the ASME ones.

Models are completely disassemblable and are fitted with simulated gaskets, The clear acrylic shell allows to visualise the construction, thesimple part details, the operating principles of these common pieces of process equipment.

The outside-packed floating-head heat exchanger is realized for AEP configuration.
