The purpose of the course is to equip Dealer Electric Power Sales and Product Support Professionals and Caterpillar Sales and Product Support Representatives with knowledge of the Extended Service Coverage (ESC) programs that enhance the value of Catand Olympian gensets and Cat System Products (ATS, UPS, EPIC, and Switchgear) as well as provide customers with a tool to help manage operating costs over the life of the equipment.

This course provides a basic understanding of generator set paralleling, including the system components, the site conditions required, and the advantages and disadvantages of paralleling versus a single unit system. We will cover relevant terminology, load control methods, and typical equipment requirements. There is also a site evaluation scenario that will walk you through a typical customer application. The exercise will help explain the thought process required when evaluating an application and making the proper system recommendation to your customer.

This course provides an overview of owning and operating costs for Cat generator sets, the cost factors that make up owning and operating costs, also referred to as O and O costs, and how they impact the customer.
