On October 1, a diverse and philanthropic group of Atlanta professionals will assemble to pledge their generosity and ongoing support of domestic violence survivors during the 5th Annual Still Standing & Stepping Out, 2016 Purple Affair Fundraiser hosted by Fox 5’s George Franco.

Riding the waves of previous years vastly successful and generously sponsored Purple Affair, The foundation has planned this year’s event to be yet another night to remember. Guests will be treated to light fare, live entertainment, celebrity appearances, a silent auction and exciting fashion show in which survivors of abuse will showcase various style trends on the runway. Attendees will also hear from this year’s ambassadors April Kelley, Nikki Payne, Dr. Alexcius Branch as well as Keynote Speaker, Dr. Sonja Brown. Corporate Partners include Clayton Center, State Farm Agency & Erika Mitchell of Metro Brokers.

Proceeds will benefit The Still Standing Foundation’s “Survivor Start up fund”. The Start Up Fund assists victims of Domestic Violence with the necessary funds and resources needed to start their new life as a survivor, such as deposits for rent, utilities, transportation expenses and much more.

The Still Standing Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides a positive outlet for Victims of Domestic Violence to become Survivors.

Our mission is to empower victims of domestic violence to become survivors. We are dedicated to preventing domestic violence and intervening with educational and therapeutic resources. Our coaching, mentoring, and consulting programs allow us to help individuals nationwide recognize, end and heal from the effects of domestic violence. Through various trainings, workshops, and speaking, we inspire and teach advocates, victims, survivors, and community partners how to identify domestic violence, facilitate change, and restore healing.

Our vision is to create a society where violence against women is not tolerated. A society in which individuals, communities, institutions and policymakers are all working together to increase awareness, eradicate domestic violence, and foster an environment in which all survivors have access to resources needed to thrive as a survivor.

A Message From Our Founder

As I reminisce over the last five years since I founded the Still Standing Foundation (SSF), I am overwhelmed at the accomplishments that have manifested. What began as a desire to help other women, like myself, who struggled with rebuilding their lives after abuse, evolved into an amazingnetwork of domestic violence survivors, advocates and supporters. They have all joined forces with Still Standing crusading to save lives, empower, and work towards ending the cycle of abuse. My mission was to ensure that victims and survivors understand that they are never alone. On a grand scale of things, there is a global community effort dedicated to sharing our victories,advocating for us, and working together to end this epidemic. The vision of the Still Standing Foundation will always be to continue to make a difference in the lives of Domestic Violence victims, and with your on-going support, the improvements will continuously flow.

I want to thank our supporters for making our mission and vision possible.
