The TVPN system consists of the server and Linei.

Linei 4004 extends up to 64ch.

The system extends up to 5ch with Linei 1000, that is 2 of serial connection and 3 of USBtoSerial connection..

The TVPN consists of server and Linei 4004, and extends up to 64ch. It supports 10/100 LAN.

The system will extends with the server and Linei 1000, and be capable up to 5 ch.

This chapter introduces the features for using the SOHO Calling Card Server, and covers the following topics.

What is the SOHO Calling Card Server?SOHO Calling Card System is the minimized prepaid calling card system. It is capable of reducing the

overhead costs with minimized investment and simple management, and it is the telecommunication franchise system for reducing the risk.

Nowadays there are a lot of calling cards, and they compete each other. Sometimes come cards lose their credit with improper business morality. But the SOHO Calling Card system is the telecommunication system for profitable business with lease investment and creditable business

Connection Procedure of the SOHO Calling Card System

(ID and password of the TVPN system are assigned by TELEFREE Dealer) After your executing the program with your user ID and password, the main screen

shows up. If you click the “+ADD” button in the left-bottom side of the screen, you are able to

setup the Linei 1000 which is connected to the system. If you click COM Port Setting, the lists of Linei connected to the COM Port of the

system are displayed (if the number of listed Linei is less than the number of the connected Linei, then it means the devices are not detected in Windows. Please confirm connection of Linei power, connection of Linei serial port, and the serial port setup in device manager of Windows.)

If you want to move the selected COM Port in the “Check COM Port” screen to “Additional COM Port” screen, please click the “ADD >>” button to move it.

You may set up the configuration of each Linei’s. You are able to select the PSTN or PBX depending on the connection, and adjust the volume after testing.

The types of busy tone may have different values depending on the circumstance of the telephone lines. Please make calls to extensions, the PSTN, and the mobile phones, and adjust the setup values with the results of test.

Please listen the busy tone and record the duration after hang-up before your testing for busy tone. In some countries, for example, Canada, there is no busy tone even though you hang up the phone. In this case, you have to install the program for this case. In the case of Sudan, it takes 1 min and 30 seconds after the mobile caller hang up. Please check all kinds of busy tone as many as you can. If you have the same values of busy tone, you may set it up as one.

1. After installation, please double-click the TVPN icon on the Desktop screen.

a. Economy: is the default setup, and provides cheapest call ratesb. Deluxe : is capable of providing better call quality, but a little high call rates

4. Select the country code with clicking the icon ( ) in the right side of the second row, and enter the codes for international calls (Fig. 5-2). * You may modify these setting values with clicking the option icon in the main screen

* International Dialing : Codes for the international calls. Because every counties have their own international codes for oversea calls, it is recommended to setup your own codes for your convenience.Example) The States 011 Korea 001, 002, 008

* These codes do not affect any change in the international call rates

1. Please double click the SOHO CallingCard icon on the Desktop.

2. The login screen shows up (Figure 5-3)

3. Enter your User ID and password, and click the ‘OK’ button.

4. The main screen of SOHO shows up after login procedure (Figure 5-4).

You need the Telefree ID and password for using the SOHO. If you don’t have any Telefree ID, please sign up at the homepage of Telefree, http:// www.telefree.co.kr/ with help of your dealer, or contact the customer service center.

•Save: If you check it, you can start the program without entering User ID and password•Auto: If you check it, the program will start automatically

Comport CheckYou can setup of append the Linei channel if you click the Add button ( ) in the main screen.

Caution) You have to set it up by appending even though you have only one Linei. If you append the Linei 1000 with USB2serial, please confirm your additional serial ports are created with device manager in the control panel.

1. Click the ‘Comport Search(S)’ button.

2. Please wait while searching screen.

3. Select the searched channels, and append them by clicking the ‘Add >>’ button. Finally click the ‘Complete(C)’ button. - The ‘All >>’ button will append all selected channels.

4. After setting the Linei values of each ports, click the ‘OK’ button.

Busytone Check

Busytone Check

Linei is the hardware for supporting FXO port, and connects the telephone line or the internal line of PBX. FXS port or digital line makes the physical change of signal such as the current or voltage when the call is connected to the opponents, but FXO port makes the change of sound such as DTMF, Ring back tone, Busy signal. Therefore in order to detect disconnection of the call by the Linei, you have to setup the busy tone correctly. If you set up Busy Tone incorrectly, your call might be disconnected frequently during the call, or you fail to make another call after you hang up even though you disconnect it because Linei recognize your line is still on. Therefore Busytone setup is the essential procedure.

1. Click the ( ) button.

2. Select the Busytone Check (B) among the Pop-up menu. (Figure 5-10)

1. Enter the port number and phone No. as Test Parameter, and click the Call (C) Button.* Please enter any extension number of phone number as the Phone No..

2. Please hold the phone and hang it up when the bell rings.

3. When the busy tone comes, please click the Check (C) button. The busytone check starts. * If you have no sound card in your system, you cannot listen the busytone. In that case, please click the Check (C) button as soon as you hang up the phone.

Caution) Before starting Busy tone check, you have to confirm the busy tone from the handset of the phone which is connected to Linei. And you have to take times after hang up the phone, and use it when you check the busy tone

4. When you finish the Busy tone Check, the cycle value is registered in the Busytone window, as shown in Fig. 5-12.

5. The setting for cycle value is for solving the problem that the call is not disconnected in some telephone line which has the same frequency of busy tone and ring-back tone. But if you apply it, it might be delayed when you hang up the phone.

* Therefore we recommend you not to apply the cycle value. *

Please make your test to all kinds of lines, the fixed line and mobile phone. If you have different values, please apply them.

All procedures are finished. Please click the Apply button, and Exit button.

Management – Call RateManagement provides the management of call rate, guild and call details. If you click the (

) icon in the main screen, the Management screen shows up.

Management menu has the Call Rate function, and you may apply your additional margin

rate at the basic call rate. (Fig. 5-14)

Management – GuildThe Administrator of SOHO Calling Card is able to register the customer’s information directly, name, PIN number and credit, and the registered customers are able to make calls very cheaply.

Option – Settings and PreferencesOption window enables users to change the setting of the Linei. Available options are Network Type, Service Type, Voice Traffic Rate, DTMF, Busy tone and Miscellaneous settings. You can easily choose the option or change it for your convenient use.

TVPN is capable of making and receiving call through internet. It operates all circumstance of network type, static IP as well as internal IP, Dynamic IP, Internal IP, NAT.

If you connect the following web site, http://www.telefree.co.kr/iptype, you are able to check your network situation, the speed and bandwidth of your connection, and you may get how many line you can connect your syustem

FSYNC(ms) - Internet phone divides the voice of PCM(64kbps) via telephone line as 33 packets per second, and

compresses them. If compressed packet is sent every time when it is compressed, the size of network overhead is more larger than the size of voice packet. In order to avoid this difficulty, the packets will be stored in the buffer, and be sent together. If two packets are sent, then Fsync is 2, and if three, then Fsync is 3. It will reduce the size of traffic up to 8kbps. If your network situation is good enough to set Fsync as 1, then it may reduce the delay as 60ms.

Jitter(ms) - The call for the internet phone may be delayed or lost in the case of public internet. Especially, if the route

is too complicated because of passage through many servers, the order of voice packets may be mixed. In order to solve it, Telefree develop the function of jitter buffer, and it improves the call quality.

- If you increase the value of jitter buffer, the voice quality is getting better but it may has the delay at the first time in the call because the jitter buffer holds all packets which are arrived, and reorders them. If your network situation is too poor, we strongly recommend you set it as 180 to 240 ms. The jitter buffer adjust the size dynamically depending on the network situation; if the network is good, the buffer reduce the size, and the network becomes worse, it increase the size, but doesn’t exceed the initial setting valuse.

39Service Type Setting

You have to set the service type in order to make international calls with following instructions

You can set the international dialing code which you always make international calls for your convenience. If you set up the value, the Linei program will make international calls with your setting value.

Economy mode is the default setting and you may make a international call with very cheap rate

The Deluxe mode designates an alternate route when our network is congested.

Caution) Deluxe mode provides better quality, but is a little higher rate than the Economy mode.

We recommend you not to use Deluxe mode except emergency

The Guild rate of administrator varies depending on the service type, and the service type is selected before login, and modified at Option menu..

Call RateCall rate for each countries varies each countries per each customers, and the call rate is

applied the margin rate already.

Ex) In the case that Call rate of Telefree DB 10 gd + margin rate (30%), the customer’s call rate is 13 gd
